A: Pours a great deep chocolate brown color with a foamy pillow on top.

S: Aroma is of raisins chocolate sweet dark malts toasty and earthy.

T: Taste is sweet malts with heavy emphasis on the chocolate and a slightly boozy taste.

M: Mouth feel is a full bodied beer with a heavy feel rich and silky.

O: Would definitely drink this again a big winner for this beer and sadly not available back home.

Appearance:
Amber-brown color. Good amount of carbonation rising up. Small frothy head.

Aroma:
Malty, slight roasted, caramel, sweet.

Taste:
Rich, malty, bready, slight roasted, deep caramel, nutty. Hop bitterness is mild, mainly leafy-earthy. A little fruity ester in the background. Finish is dry. Body is robust, very smooth, semi-dry.

Overall:
Very good for a Brown Ale. Smooth and delicious.

Very dark brown, not quite Porter dark in the pint shaker. Watery mouthful in a nice way. Sweet and malty but full of roasted flavors. Returns to the usual caramel taste, but pleasantly different. A bit fruity, like sweet apples, with a faint burr of the dirty sort of hops. Tends toward a mucky aftertaste.

On the whole this is better than some Brown Ales I've had, but for the English style it's nothing to brag about. On tap at Cricket's in Lubbock. [From notes overlooked after 11/07/2012 tasting]
