500ml bottle - $3.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours out a cloudy, darkish yellow body with a tall, pillowy, white head.
Smell: Tangy-scented wheat, a little tartish lemon juice, subtle banana scent, a bite of clove, very far-off vanilla.
Taste: Soft, supple wheat malt with a slight graininess and pinch of powdered sugar. The ever expected banana and spicy clove tastes are there. Almost gives a hint of vanilla. Citrusy lemon, a hint of florals and enough bitterness to help push it do a drying, crisp finish.
Mouthfeel: Falls shy of medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: Refreshing. Not a bad lil' hefe that leans more crisp than creamy.

A: Pours a hazy, somewhat murky orange-yellow. The off-white head has a light tint of yellow-orange, and while initially tall, it eagerly fades to a more medium height. The texture is a bit fluffy/foamy, and a patchy lattice of lacing sticks to the glass.
S: Some tangy wheat aromas in the nose, along with some general malty breadiness. Soft yeasty spiciness, with rather light clove notes. Banana notes become increasingly prominent as the beer warms. A bit lemony/citric. Subdued but pleasant.
T: Bready malt and wheat notes up front. Yeast adds a nice batch of citric, banana, and powdery spice flavors. Faint vanilla and clove flavors. A pleasant, fruity aftertaste brings some light orchard notes (pear, golden apple).
M: Medium body, with fairly soft carbonation. Generally creamy and inviting.
O: This is a nice hefeweizen, though other offerings from Germany are superior. This manages a very nice balance, with no particular characteristic standing apart from the others. Nicely crafted and easy to drink.

Poured from the bottle into a wheat ale glass.
A classic booming soapy white head makes the grade, slides down the glass and provides some retention, but true to style. Body color hits at unfiltered mix of classic orange glowing yellow, with some light amber hues. Lots of rising carbonation. The body color has a good mix of in between great and uses the brown to it's advantage.
Nose is peanut butter. What is it with the yeast profile on these Furst brews? Peanuts and clean wheat chewy malt. Light clove sense pops in. The peanut sensation on this style feels real good compared to the pilsners, it comes off with that nice chewy wheat malt and compliments nicely. I actually like this angle.
On the palate, yup it's a hefe alright, but seems quite toned down. Most of the flavor profile is accented in the finish, hitting with a real nice lingering burnt clove sense that isn't drastic or hurtful. Body hits at some wet carbonation, but matches it seems with the toned down flavor. Borderline crisp.
Overall it's a muted Hefe, but I strangely miss that peanut taste which I think would make this unique for a hefe. I could have this again though, it's a good German hefe alternative.

Classic hefe with all the qalities of a solid beer in this style: wonderful hazy color and great head; delicious citrusy taste with superb balance of flavors and ingredients; a full, creamy mouthfeel that blends well with the abv; and a satisying finish. I even love the bottle, which I'll keep for perhaps future bottling? I plan to go back to the store to pick up some more before it disappears. A very solid beer. Can't wait to try their others (3 of which are chilling now in my fridge).

Poured from a brown 16.9 oz. bottle. Has a cloudy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is bursting with banana's , spices. Taste is the same, banana, spice, wheat, extreme refreshment. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall is a top notch beer.

Perusing the German beer at Total Wine and ran across this, big fan of Hefe so figured I would give it a go.
A=Pours a very thick and cloudy orange with a huge fluffy head. Pretty appetizing for any hefeweizen fan, though i wouldn't recommend it as an offering to someone just starting to expand his beer horizons.
S=Typical fare of clove and banana
T=Clove and banana come to the forefront with a spicy taste in the finish
M=a bit thin but nicely carbonated
O=Try it out if you can find it in your local store but don't bend over backwards to trade for it

500ml Bügelflashe. Mindestens haltbar bis: 05.12.11.
It pours a light hay gold with a bright white head that quickly dissipates with no lacing.
The smell is predominantly banana with some malt coming through ever so slightly.
The flavor follows the scent. Big banana notes in this one. A nice bit of wheat and barley flavors as well. It also has a nice lemon tartness. It is a fruity, sweet, but light hefe-weizen, great for summer weather.

I have never seen this brewery's beer before, found it at the Olympia Einkaufzentrum in Munich today.. Served in a flip-top, blue label with a picture of a knight on the front.
Opens wih an explove pop, immediately giving a whiff of Hefe-goodness.
An aggressive pour yields an thick, cramy, ever-so-light tan head literally filling the entire hefe glass. After several seconds, the beer emerges under the cap, a light golden-yellowish colored Hefe, that immediately reminds me of Belgian Wit in appearance, in it's lemony total murkiness. The head is still there after a full two minutes. Good looking Hefe.
Aroma is rich mixture of a thick smell of grain, yeast, and lemony esters , cream, all pureed with a massive amount of banana, and with a sharp, peppery-clove dusting. Orange and tangerine are appreciated, but this is really one of the most banana-like Hefe's I've come across. The aroma is accented, but not interrupted by the light spiciness of yeast. Banana-weizen if I've ever had one. I'm loving it.
Spicy, musty, thick-sweet and creamy all at once. There is a grainy wood-like mustiness upfront, then the onslaught of fruit and spice ensues. The banana is upfront and in-your face, digging into it, I find a sweetness akin to vanilla bean, orange, honey cream of wheat, pepper and clove.
Flavor is probably one of the most banana-like of any Hefe I have previously tried. It detracts a bit from itself after a while. A bit more spice would take this to the top of the Hefe world. Mouth feel is thick creamy and a bit under carbonated, as in any good Hefe. It simply becomes a slight bit too sweet after a while, but that is being a bit nit-picky.
I've really been looking for a Hefe that packs this much banana-creamy flavor, and Wallerstein has delivered. Great Weizen.

Beautiful cloudy golden color with a strong head that lasts the entire glass. I had this with some German sausage and sauerkraut and it was glorious. Great tasting beer with a light hint of banana. I was at a German beer hall and tried several other brews after this one (this was the first) but this was by far the best.

I really enjoyed this beer and have tried it a few times now in blind tests. It really is a solid offering from what is one of the best breweries in Germany. Try their beers and I think youll agree!
Pours up a creamy white head that fades a little quicker than other Weißbiers in this region. The fines bubbles do hang on for the rest of the ride to provide a nice lace. The color is pale gold and cloudy with yeast. The aroma is absolutely where this beer shines. A very nicely balanced and complex aroma that begins with a big fruity bubble gum blast. Candy like at times with strong waves of banana. Paired to the fruit aromas are nice phenolic spice aromas. The yeast comes thorugh crisp and very clean and is backed by a strong malt backbone. A+ for the aroma no question! Würzig!!! The carbonation is appropriate to style and mouth feel is medium to light. Its very light and crisp. Maybe a bit lighter than others. The fruity yeast flavors play up front and lead into a spiced malt foundation that finishes balanced by a slight hop bitterness. Maybe a bit lighter in the mouth feel than others but otherwise a very, very good Weißbier. It you like your Weißbier aggressive in the aroma department and full flavor(Würzig!) than pour one of these up. Only possible detraction is the mouthfeel. Zum Wohl!

Orange opaque body with pure white head.
Very light aroma
Very fresh banana and spice. Overall this beer is good to drink but lacking in character, making the 250 word minimum quite a challenge for reviewing this beer.
Fine carbonation.
Very refreshing, but pretty boring. I am beginning to think that "HefeWeizen" means boring in German.
