Notes:
Bock beers gained notoriety in Munich back in 1612. All the Bavarian nobles were drinking fashionable northern ales known as Einbeck Bier. So Duke Maximillian I of Munich hired his own northern brewmaster, who created a lager similar in character but superior in taste. It won back the local aristocrats. Inspired by his entrepreneurial spirit we started brewing our own urBock – rich, ruby-hued beer with subtle, dark roasted flavours. It’s an aristocratic beer but rest assured, you needn’t be a Duke to enjoy it.

Can from the LCBO, canned on date J23 (September 23). In a pint glass.

Pours a rusty red, with a few fingers of thick and creamy eggshell head. Leaves some lace and retains its head well. Nose has some earthy hops, light grain, and a general sense of the malt sweetness. Nothing exciting here, and the taste proves this. Some of the hops upfront, light toffee and caramel notes, and some graininess. Alcohol isn't disguised, and that a disappointment at relatively low ABV. However, its got a decent creamy mouthfeel. Not a ton of flavour going for this one, simple and straightforward. Medium drinkability.

Appearance: Mostly translucent dark mahogany with a pillowy light tan head (basically off-white). Looks real nice.

Aroma: Nutty toffee and that slight tinge of lager yeast. Not super aromatic but a sweet aroma overall.

Taste: Not quite what I was expecting at first sip but still a good flavor. It's not as sweet as the aroma suggests which works in its favor here. Starts with light earthy/grassy hop presence that mixes well with a pilsen/amber malt flavor. Midway through you get that blast of lager yeast which balances out the sweetness from the malt. The finish is bright and smooth. Aftertaste of echoing lager yeast with a lingering bitterness (very low probably 20-30 IBUs). At 6% ABV it never tastes watery but still doesn't excel very far in the flavor department.

Mouthfeel: A tad below medium in body with somewhat aggressive carbonation. Good drinkability.

Final Thoughts: I've only had one other offering from Creemore Springs (their Kellerbier) which I enjoyed as well. They brew proof that lagers aren't just for BMC drinkers. Would I drink it again? Sure, but I'd be more interested in trying their other offerings.

This is my first review but I've had this beer multiple times.

A - Pours a clear bronzish red color. The head is a light tan and is about an inch thick. but, it quickly goes away and leaves nothing behind. No lacing of any sort.

S - Never really picked up anything unique. Has a faint malt smell to it.

T - Very subtle but deep caramel flavour. Has a nice roasted nuts taste that is permanent throughout each sip. Bitterness hits you at the end. Lingering after taste.

M - Medium body. Refreshing feel to it.

O - One of my go to beers. I enjoy the bitterness it leaves you with. A great beer for after a long day of school and studying.

Poured into a Pilsner glace.

A: Hazelnut/caramel brown colour. Pours a 1/4 inch head that is off white then drops to a thin layer.

S: Deep caramel/toffee flavours, hints of smokiness, hints of hops,

T: There is a nice sweetness that starts off, then a warming feeling comes in and finishes with a dry feeling. Caramel flavours present, hop bitterness is right on with a bit of hop flavour at the end.

M: Med body, great carbonation.

O: This is a great Bock. I look forward to this time of year every year to be able to have a few of these.
