Growler filled at Capone's before the Kentucky Derby...
Appears a hazy, deep gold with a russet hue. Streams of CO2 quickly rise to the top of the fluffy, egg-shell toned cap. Scattered bits of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is outstanding. Full aromas of bourbon, caramel, toffee, oak, vanilla, with a touch of honey, biscuits, and freshly baked cake.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with a flavorful punch of bourbon dominating the rich flavors.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, warming, and just an overall joy to drink. Noticable abv but this one is a sipper.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle that was filled at Bierkraft

A - pours a mahogany w/ruby highlights and a little bit of foam

S - whiskey and sweet malts dominate, nutty with some vanilla and brown sugar

T - big shot of whiskey up front, some malt & whiskey to finish it.

M/D - Alcohol is very present, could have been aged for a year or so and would have blended nicely, nice carbonation and smooth mouthfeel, its just the whiskey is way too prominant.

Hand bottled from growler by Steve and sent fresh, thanks! Pours a fresh looking and smelling treat, its like I'm at the brewpub. Beige colour, little head. Above average mouthfeel, smooth drinking for bourbon, and notes were whiskeyish, and not heavy. Taste was like a "young" olde ale.

Thanks to Jw347 for the opportunity to try this beer. This came in a 22oz growler filled at Bierkraft. I shared this beer last night at La Bella with Joey and Danny.

Pours a brown color with some dark orange highlights on the sides. There's also a half inch of foam that falls down rather quickly.

A bit shy at first. I could only pick up some woodsy aromas at first but the glass was filled to the rim so that was likely the culprit. After a sip or two I could pick up a bit of whiskey, vanilla, grapes, and more whiskey. A few moments later there was some brown sugar. A very sweet smelling beer.

Started out with some nutty malts, toast, vanilla, barrel, sweet raisins, dates, and more vanilla in the end. A bit of alcohol flavor in the finish, didn't come across as hot or fusel though. Definite whiskey flavor, grapes, toast. The last few sips toasted almonds and toasted coconut flavors. Also some bitter tannins in the last sip. The beer is enjoyable but the problem I had with it was the base beer...I think it needed more complexity.

Very smooth carbonation and creamy on the palate. The finish does feel a bit thin at times, likely from the weak base beer. Overall, I enjoyed this beer.

On tap at Capones.

Poured a deeper amberish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of mainly bourbon, and vanilla. Tastes of the same...stronger bourbon, vanilla, caramel, and some citrus. The bourbon was definitely present all the way around in this one.

I was gifted a bottle of this from the brewer at Arcadia. Great guys, and great Ahi tuna.

First pour yields a murky amber color with absolutely no lacing or head retention.

The nose is minimal actually. slight almond sweetness, and a hint of booze heat. on second sniff I get toffee, raisins and tobacco. Good old ale characteristics.

The taste is hit with a odd faux carbonation coming from the butter effect mixing with old ale sour notes. Intriguing.

Mouthfeel is soft and creamy with an oddly roasted sweet /burnt toffee finish.

Damn fine beer, I like that people are trying new things with BB aging.
