Stopped here on saturday while in town to pick up some sour upland fruit lambic goodness!
Atmosphere/Quality: Its a large aluminium farm building with a nice store on the inside. People are friendly and greet you as you walk into the door. Clean, well lit and organized.
Service: All I gotta say is that I met Al on BA from a beer thread that I posted about local Indiana beer. He said he would take care of me! He was a great guy to meet and an awesome BA. We talked for a while and made some fantastic beer reccommendations from his beer stock that for the most part sounds like he has hand picked. Not only that, but he shared a few really nice beers and tasted them out with us while we talked and beer shopped. Al is probably the reason this beer section is what it is. Ask for Al hes a wealth of beer knowledge, good guy and a great BA!
Selection: Great locals present and accounted for. A 3 or 4 level shelf that almost streaches the entire store length that has many great craft beer from all over the world. Its well organized by beer region and he has tags on some ber to denote a sour beer, just encase that's you thing or not it will be easy to differentiate between the beers.
Value: Prices seem to be fair here and nothing seemed to be that far from out of line on the price tags. Nice value for your money.
Bottom line stop at this store come and see Al if you need any help with any beer questions. It a top notch beer store, I was impressed! Thanks again Al.

Pretty much the mecca for any craft beer fans coming to Indy. Selection cannot be beat, period. Beer to left, entire wall of coolers, a center *specials* isle and the one long shelf facing coolers. Always very clean and well-faced. Don't have to worry about any stale IPA's as they move at this location. Staff is always friendly and helpful and the beer manager is the best in the area, bar none. Some things are a bit more pricey than other stores but you are paying for quality here, and it is a price I don't mind paying at all.
Check their twitter to stay current with what is hot and fresh.
Make sure to look into Beerocracy events, their tastings are top notch and rare/limited bottles are usually available at the Beerocracy tastings via raffle.
Good selection of glassware, a limited amount of gourmet food for any last second tasting needs, huge wine selection, well stocked and rounded spirits selections....in other words you can't go wrong here.
If you stop at only one place in Indy area, make sure it is this one.
Kahn's Keystone gets a full FIVE yellow lightsabers from me....do not miss or Yoda will cry.

While there are one or two others that may come close, this is THE best store in the state for craft beer. Their selection is comprised of all of the midwest regulars, as well as whatever limited release(s) may be in season, and a very large selection of international brews. Where Kahn's really shines is their knowledge and expertise on the products they stock (and craft beer in general). Al possesses a fantastic knowledge of all things beer, and is glad to help any customer that sets foot in the beer aisle. The prices are on the higher end of the "normal range" when compared to other stores around the city, but the difference is negligible when you factor in the great service/conversation to be had here. Stop in, chat with Al, leave with beer. You'll be glad you did.

Kahn's on Keystone is my go-to liquor store, and is the first place I will take out of town friends who want to check out my favorite liquor store. It's a pretty large place and in my opinion is the best liquor store in the state, of the ones that I have been to. They have a huge selection of wine and liquor, and the craft beer selection is top notch. They have a lot of the hard to find brews, they are loyal to the local breweries and carry all of them (including Great Crescent which I haven't seen many other places). They also have a good amount of imported craft beers with a cool selection of Belgians and stuff. The beer managers are super knowledgeable and love to talk beer and give recommendations. After a few trips in, they will inevitably remember your name and will make it a point to speak with you and recommend cool new things. The prices aren't terrible, somethings are a little higher, somethings are a little lower, but nothing to lose sleep over.

Kahan's appears to be a small warehouse on the inside. Beer is all situated on the left side of the store in one aisle. Coolers on the left side of the aisle and bottled beers on the shelf across from it. Nice selection of locals (Upland, SunKing), regionals (FFF, BBC), and others (was surprised to find both Pretty Things and Sixpoint) as well as varied selection of Belgians.
Can't comment on service as no one helped me (or attempted to help me) despite the fact I was one of only two people in the store at the time.
Prices seemed appropriate for the area. Three Floyd's was the same price as in Chicago. SunKing was $11 for a four pack, but since I have nothing to compare it to, I couldn't say if that is good or not.

Stopped in here as my one and only bottle shop stop I had time for... I couldn't have picked a better place.
Al, the beer guy, was great. Really friendly an helpful, taking time to show me lots of various things that I walked passed because I was oblivious to what they were....
Lots of various vintage beers, especially of euro-imports (of which there are lots!).
I hit up liquor stores whenever I'm traveling, in many different states, and this place had at least 15 beer's I had to look up on BA to even know what they were!
The beer is all along the left side of the shop. There's tons of craft in the coolers, and plenty of bottles on the shelves as well. Every brewery I've ever seen in IN is represented here, with several I haven't seen before, and many Belgian imports I'd never even seen anywhere.
The beer is kept well-organized and properly faced to make selection easy-- I know this is a minor point, but it goes to the credit of the employees.
I didn't shop the prices too hard, but from the beers I saw, the prices probably averaged out to what I'm used to seeing. Some were a couple bucks more than back in IL, and others were less.
Overall-- ale this your "can't miss" stop if you're reveling trough Indy... I know it will be mine!

I was in town for work, and scoped out a few places to pick up some beer I can't get in my home state. I hit Crown, then went here to Kahn's. Great experience - I ended up chatting with the two guys working about beer for a good 30 minutes while making some selections. The have tons of Three Floyds, Bells, Founders, all of which is why I came, specifically the Three Floyds. They even had something in the back not displayed (one left) that they brought out for me. Overall a great experience. Also note that they move a lot of beer here, and the assured me the Three Floyds for example was fresh. I didn't have the same experience elsewhere.
I can't comment really on prices since I don't live in the area.

This place was a blast for me to go to they have a limited number of American craft beers but a very extensive collection of foreign craft beer and Belgians galore. They have some beer in the back that was claimed by employee's that sometimes forget it or end up not getting it ( i got a 6 pack of Gumball head like this...score). I also was helped a great deal with the employees who were very informative and knowledgeable. The lot who were there when i went all seem to be true beer heads.
Overall I will visit this place again.
PS they have some devecent signature glass ware on top of the beer fridge.

I stopped in Kahn's passing through Indy this past weekend, and I was pretty impressed. They have a big selection of American craft, import craft and macro beers in general. The beer was on the left side of the store, as they also sell wine and spirits there. They had beer stored both on shelves and in coolers. Everyone I talked to on the staff was nice and all asked if I had any questions and were all willing to help. When I was checking out I remembered there was one beer I was looking for and didn't see it in the coolers so I asked if they had any available. I don't know who it was that I talked to there, but they remembered that they just got a shipment in from their distributor earlier that day and went in the back to check, and grabbed me a 6-pack when he found out it was one of the beers they just received. The prices all seemed fair to me, and the craft selection was impressive as I found a lot of brews I was looking for and some interesting ones I had never seen before. I'll definitely stop back in the next time I'm in the area.

They take beer reservations.
They keep a wide selection of available 1/6th bbl and 1/2 bbl kegs at all times.
I've seen Coors, Sam Adams seasonals, Rouge Hazelnut, Founders BS, Sun King, Chimay, Stella, Goose Island, Upland...
They will special order beer for you if they can find it. Including Kegs.
Brennan and Al are the guys to ask for (as of Fall 2011). They are very knowledgeable.
Kahns (and Crown) are tied for the second largest collection of available beers in Indiana only because they choose not to carry the hundreds of entry level variations of malt liquors that PartiPak does.
Quality over Quantity.
