Poured from a growler filled at Joe Canal's Iselin into my Brooklyn Nonic Pint Glass
Appearance: Pours a golden yellow and is surprisingly clear and filtered. I was expecting a hazier or even cloudy beer considering it is a Wit style. A nice inch high head forms with tight white bubbles that dissipate very quickly. Limited lacing remains behind and the head
Smell: a very pleasant bready smell with a nice citrussy scent and a hint of corriander and potentially some other spicy hints. A very pleasing aroma. Very reminiscent of a good typical wit beer, not overly wheaty and yeasty, just understated and pleasant
Taste: The initial taste is fairly surprising due to the peppery spicing that is front and center. The very balanced nose hides this interesting and delicious surprise.
Mouthfeel: The carbonation is very tight and fairly smooth for a wit beer, but does not leave a yeasty film that is typical of heavy yeasty beers. The mouth is very crisp and biying with a kick at the back of the palette from the above mentioned peppery spicing.
Overall: This was a very nice surprise and is somewhat (in my view) a departure from recent Brooklyn's II have drunk. I enjoy the bold peppering and the crisp finish, and really like the crispness, I was expecting a beer with more subtlety and was pleasantly surprised by the bold spicing. This very drinkable and unlike many wit beers that are better drunk on the deck in the summer, this one lends itself to the cooler months due to the spicing. Well done Brooklyn.

Growler fill from the Green Growler in Croton-on –Hudson, NY
Pours a dull shade of golden, lighter amber, hazed.
Light khaki head that stays a spell, then leaves a loose thicker film, a high collar and nice looking sheets of fine sheeting.
Sniff reveals a muted fruityness, with some wheat malts and resiny hops. Intriguing…
This offering is on the hoppy side of the wit beer world. Hops on the aggressive side. Citric, with lime showing its presence, and following through the finish. Fruity and grainy hops all over this one. Quite dry and enjoyable, nice one Brooklyn….

A-Clear yellow orange, three finger fluffy white head.
S-Wheat, grass, spice, lemon, orange and coriander. Exactly how a witbier should smell.
T-Starts with wheat and lemon. Tad bit of grass. No bitterness. A major step down the smell.
M-Light in body, some carbonation and almost watery.
O-Everything was downhill from the nose. Still a nice beer though. If you have the chance to try it before the kegs are gone, do so.

Served on-tap in a 12-oz. tulip-shaped glass at Barley Vine in Bristol, Conn.
A: Poured a rose-colored amber with a thick, wispy head of off-white foam which left a nice ring of lace on the glass that dragged vinous legs down its walls.
S: Fruity and bracing spicy aroma with plenty of floral esters to go along. The spritzy Belgian yeast makes fine work of the delicate, fruity malts and sugar additives to create a slick, perfume of a beer.
T: Spicy and sweet at first with hints of strawberry, orange peel and rose hips throw in the mix. The spicy, herbal and almost peppermint nature of the yeast springs forward to cut through the musky, fruity concoction. A grassy, assertive hop character cuts the sweetness, leaving the palate dry and semisweet in the finish.
M: Light-medium bodied, sweet and delicate fruitiness add some tart and spicy sensations to the palate, with minimal bitterness left on the tongue.
O: The best example in recent memory of a wine-drinkers witbier, Fiat Lux is an unconventional, fruity Belgian wit that seems more engineered for a cheese pairing or fruity dessert than for general sipping. The 6.1% ABV wit would likely be well-received as an apertif as opposed to a session beer.
