A: Pours a lightly hazy pale straw yellow in color with moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a quarter finger tall fizzy white head that reduces to a thick layer covering the entire surface of the beer evenly. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: This beer has a very mild/light aroma without anything really standing out. Very light hints of spices and herbs.

T: Flavors of some bready malts along with wheat and light notes of spices from the saison yeast. Overall there is not a lot of flavor to this beer.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slight hint of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink but nothing really stands out about this beer - it is an average Belgian Pale Ale but I have personally experienced some more impressive ones recently. Enjoyable with some interesting flavors.

Beer notes from 2/25/12; on tap at Brooklyn Bowl: pours hazy yellow orange with a fluffy snow white 1 finger head that faded slowly and left great foamy lacing clinging to the sides.

Smells of yeast, coriander, sweet malt, caramel, wheat bread, orange peel, hay, roasted grains, peat moss and earthy notes like bark or pine cone; nice Belgian beer aroma that's mild and sweet, but pretty subtle overall.

Tastes of yeast, wheat, coriander, clove, sweet malt, caramel, wheat bread, orange peel, lemon, floral hops, herb, hay, roasted grains, peat moss, earthy notes like bark or pine cone, piney hops, and light spices like pepper and cinnamon; really nice flavor for a mild Belgian, and it almost seems like this was dialed down to make it a session beer.

Light and crisp body, this had average carbonation, a light feel and a slightly funky tart finish that was consistent and tamed. Overall enjoyable: not extreme flavor, but extremely high drinkability.

on tap at the brewery. arrived in a plastic cup. golden yellow. straw even with a thin head. smells of banana and bubble gum and tastes the same with a blast of earthiness. kind of thin. enjoyable and an easy drinker. I would have this all the tome if avail. bit of a bitter finish.

On-tap at Mugs Alehouse, Brooklyn, NY

A: The beer is slightly hazy light golden yellow in color. It poured with a thin white head that died down and left delicate lacing covering the surface.
S: There are aromas of yeast along with notes of bready malt and hints of citrus.
T: The taste has flavors of bready malts and wheat. It has a little bit of bitterness, which particularly stands out in the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has an interesting taste and is easy to drink.

I had a chance to enjoy this at the Brewery's Happy Hour last night since it was one of the few offerings on tap that I hadn't tried yet. This was a bit tough to pinpoint stylewise, since it was not as strong as strong as other Belgian Pale Ales that I've had, but for someone not very accustomed to the style, this was quite enjoyable, without any notes that stood out starkly or prominently.

The pour to this was golden and cloudy with some head and a nice amount of lacing as I worked my way down the glass. Not a lot of aroma to this but the mouthfeel was nicely balanced to make up for that. There was some pepper, lemon, grass straw , and a very mellow, but prominent sour taste to this. I almost thought there was some wheat but that was more because of the appearance than the taste itself. The funk is there and this almost seemed like a Belgian White to me, because this beer is so easygoing and light.

I was surprised to see how low the alcohol content was when I signed into here. A Belgian session beer would not be much more obvious than this and I could imagine that this isn't like a Lambic, in the sense that its consistency is pretty much the same batch after batch. While this isn't Brooklyn's best offering, it's nice to have a beer on tap that could be appreciated by nearly all, such as this one.

I got to sample this new offering from the Brooklyn Brewery first at their ghost bottle night at The Diamond Club, and then a few weeks later at the brewery.

Radius pours a slightly cloudy golden yellow. There's about a finger of white foam crowning the beer, and it shows a respectable amount of staying power. There's a good amount of lacing left clinging to the inside of the pint glass. The nose is straightforward, but good. There are notes of fresh baked crackers, ground black pepper, and a definitel lemon-citrus presence. The threee aromas share the spotlight roughly equally, no one subjugating the other two. The flavor brings more of the same, including the pinpoint balance between everything, though the malty cracker flavor is what shines through first on each sip. What's really impressive though is the vibrancy of everything, the flavors really do sing out as the beer crosses my palate. The body is super light, with a moderate amount of carbonation. Think a witbier, except with a little bit less carbonation, in terms of mouthfeel. It does play nicely into the drinkability of the beer. I really enjoyed this beer both times I had it, it's packed with flavor and is probably the most sessionable Belgian style brew I'd ever had. How 'bout it guys, think I can get a keg for my next barbeque?
