Sampled on May 8, 2010. I put this on a shelf for six months before opening it. The pour is inky black with a quick building frothy three inch brown head. The aroma explodes with chocolate, coffee, wood, and hard liquor. The mouthfeel is somewhat oily but bold in texture. Dark chocolate, spent coffee grinds, and hops are the main ingredients of the taste with a distinctive hard liquor shadow. At the end of it there is a kind of hot pepper like sensation. This is a very smooth and unique Russian Imperial stout.

2012 vintage
A - pours a deep midnight black. two fingers of bubbly deep tan foam rise then quickly fizzles out. leaves a touch of spotty lacing against the glass.
S - aroma is dominated by oak, bourbon, and vanilla. hints of roasty coffee, charcoal, and chocolate round out the edges.
T - soft notes of bakers chocolate and doughy bread. lightly sweet notes of caramel swoop in to balance the strong flavors of char and coffee. slightly fruity notes in the center, dark and juicy. mostly plums and raisins. syrupy chocolate on the back end. finish is long and warming with notes of chocolate and bourbon.
M - full bodied. slick texture. medium carbonation. tight effervescent bubbles.

Pours black with a small dark tan head.
Nose shows coconut, oak, roasted malt, liquorice and chocolate liqueur. Lovely.
More coconut and oak as flavours but with the roasted malt more prominent.
Very low carbonation. Body feels a bit watery.
Nice stuff.

Pours a dark mocha color. Taste was oaky, kinda like a bourbon but not too overwhelming, and had a clean finish.
I am not a big fan of darker beers, and this one was decent, but something I couldn't do more than a tasting glass. Also, I was a little disappointed for the price of the bottle ($24 at WF), was expecting something a little better considering.
