Poured from bottle into snifter glass
Appearance- The beer pours a lightly hazed orange golden color with a one finger just off white head. The head fades slowly leaving a nice level of lacing
Smell-The aroma is heaviest of some citrus smells of lemon and orange mixed with clove and a light banana smell. With these aromas are also some moderate lighter fruit smells of pear and apple as well as some hints of a yeasty aroma.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready and citrus flavor. The citrus is mainly orange in taste but there are hints of lemon mixed with it. Other fruit flavors of a more tropical nature (banana, mango, papaya) are upfront as well. The yeast and spice flavors come more toward the middle of the taste. The sweet dwindles a bit as this occurs with the some light, more funk like flavors coming to the tongue. These tastes take the taste to its end where they mix with an increase in the clove and more breadiness to leave a decently fruity and spiced flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel-The body of the beer was rather average to above average in its creaminess and thickness with the carbonation level being a little on the higher side. The thickness was rather nice for the more bready nature of the brew, while the higher carbonation suited the fruit and spice nicely. A good blend for the flavors.
Overall- A rather nice drinking Belgian style strong ale. It had a good flavor profile and transitions with it even at 9% abv being very easy to drink. A quite nice beer to sit back and enjoy.

750mL bottle into a snifter
No born on/best before date
A: Pours a clear dark straw color with 3 fingers width of white head. Great retention and leaves lots of lacing.
S: Vinous, sweet, spicy. Belgian yeast esters, clove and white pepper spice, sweet fruits. There is a chalky, almost medicinal character that I can only describe as fruit flavored Tums. Some herbaceous/floral notes, like a country meadow. Really nice aroma here.
T: The initial flavor that hits my palate is a big vinous, white grape character, champagne-esque. This is followed by spice notes. I also get bakers chocolate, faint hop notes, citrusy orange.
M/D: Medium body, carbonation on the heavier side which is appropriate, ABV is well masked and drinkability is very good.
O: Good beer, well above average, but not great. I would definitely drink this again though.
