Served in a snifter at Firkin.
I remember trying a sample of this down at McGee's almost a year ago and not being all that impressed, but I figured I'd give it a full shot while I'm here at Firkin. It pours a clear brass topped by a finger of lightly off-cream-white foam. The nose comprises grapefruit zest, orange zest, light lemon peel, and a backbone of light toffee. Everything is bright and happy and expressive. The taste brings in more of the same, along with a few flowers tossed in for good measure. Now everything comes through a touch rindier than before, but not by very much. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, a tasty little DIPA, one that doesn't overdo the hops, creating a generally pleasant drinking experience.

Nothing unusual to this IPA when it comes to appearance; copper color with a silky thick head.
The scent is rather tame without any big fruity aromas or over the top floral hints. Pine, floral hoppiness, a little lemon nice but not huge.
The taste follows suit without huge flavors. Still nice, easy to drink, piney flavors with some lemon, malt and syrupy sweetness.
Overall, I liked this but simply would not rank this.amongst my favorites.

No no no. This is not an American Double, Imperial IPA (hopefully that will be corrected). This is an American Double Pale Ale. Well done and genre defining, I may add.
What an interesting ale. It comes out, full and strong with a pale ale aroma. It definitely looks a bit IPA in the glass, and the aftertaste (burp) is a big hoppy IPA, but the taste is pure pale ale. That's what makes this beer worth drinking and man, I can drink as much of the growler as I like and finish the rest tomorrow, so I am really all set with this exceptional beer.
That was more like social networking than a review! Gotta go drink some Blast. Bye.
