Aroma here is definitely a strong one. There's a lot of dark fruit, raisins and alcohol on it. There's also a wine-like quality to it as well. I could imagine it standing in for some white wines on smell alone. It's sweet and big.

Pours a reddish-blonde in the glass...fair head. Decent retention.

Taste is certainly fruity in the body. Definitely has the dark fruit flavors from the nose...and the grapes of the wine smells as well. It even has a wine-like taste on the finish that reminds me of sulfites. The alcohol, which comes across as spicy in nature, is definitely apparent from the first sip, but the ABV is fairly high so that's not surprising. It isn't to the point of distraction. Hop bitterness is very minimal. Mouthfeel is certainly thick and chewy.

I can definitely tell the Englishness in this beer from the malts and overall character of the beer. For its ABV, it drinks pretty well and went down easy.
