Brooklyn's East India pours a lovely clear coopery color with little head. The smell is very hopy and spicy. If hops had blood i think it would taste like this beer. It's very hopy bitter irony almost gamey. The body isnt too heavy and not too light. The mouthfeel is fine and the drinkabilty is great.

Pours a clear more orange than amber color with a one finger off white head. Once the head dissipates it really doesn't look as special.

Smells of brown bread with a touch of honey and some herbal hop notes.

Taste is of a spicy nutty malt note with that earthy peppery herbal dry hop bitterness leading the charge. There's a malt sweetness in there that helps out the herbal slightly piney hop notes.

Mouthfeel is fairly sharp yet dry. It definitely makes me want to take another sip immediately.

Overall, this does remind me of some english ipa's as far as the malts notes go. There's a little bit of fighting for taste between the hop and malts. But a nice and distinct ipa that I would try again for sure.

A: Almost clear dark copper/orange color. Small white head.
S: Sweet malts (caramel and some spiciness) mixed with some piney/floral hops. A bit of citrus.
T: Sweet honey flavor at first. Some spiciness comes into play as you drink more, followed by caramel and biscuit. This spiciness is strange, I can't say I love it. Orange and pine bitterness to finish it off nicely though.
M: Medium bodied with low carbonation. Moderate, but pleasant bitterness.
O: This is a solid English IPA. Generally not my favorites but this one has a nice touch.

A: Pours a amber honey color a little cloudy with a white head that dissipates in a couple seconds leaving a lace on the glass.

S: A sweet floral with hop aroma spread in the air when the bottle is opened, delightful.

T: A floral refreshing flavour that become bitter in the end. Despite its bitterness Brooklyn East IPA cannot be compared with other IPAS, especially another US IPA, because its hops aren't so extremes as expected of american IPAS, that said, this beer have a very good flavor in my opinion.

M: While not so strong in bitterness as other IPAS, this beer still leaves a bitter feel on the mouth, with some freshness of its malts and carbonation.

O: A great beer, but not so extreme as some would expecting, still a great experience that deserve one shot!

A: light copper, thin off white head. Moderate retention. Moderate lacing.
S: light hop aroma. Floral, grassy. Malt aroma. Lots of Bready malts.
T: balanced bitterness, balanced hop flavors of grass, a little herbal, a little spice. Great malt backbone here. Bready, malt deliciousness. But really well balanced.
M: crisp, dry, it's a deceiving medium body. Light to moderate carbonation (not a bitter level carbonation, but not too heavy either).

Ive had this beer possibly hundreds of times In the last 15 years and never thought mich of it. I'm brewing an English ipa this week and have been "researching". I had Low expectations based on other reviews and my own history, but I think this has changed my mind. It's a great English ipa, not west coast and if that is what you look for you will be disappointed.

Clear light amber in the Duvel tulip. An average head but very spritzy on the tongue. Light bodied. Not much fragrance, and an earthy nose.

Warm and hoppy at the same time. Some of the fruity English style of hopping, but more bitter than you'd expect. A hint of orange flavor with some woodiness, maybe a touch of dried apricot, and a quinine bitterness. Drinkable enough if you like the English Bitter style, though not as aromatic as I would hope for. The bitter aftertaste becomes more pronounced after some sipping. From the 12 oz bottle in a seasonal 12 pack from the supermarket.
