Appearance: Chestnut; medium tan head, not long lasting
Aroma: Malty, sweet; light coffee, molassas and toffee smells; light hops; overall, light aroma
Taste: Sweet juicy malt, but way too thin on the start; zippy carbonation in the mid through the end; semi-sweet finish with hint of nuttiness; not too noteworthy
Remarks: Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

You guys have no idea how happy I was to find a bar near me that carried American craft beer. It's been basically nothing but Spanish Euro pales since I arrived in Madrid 5 months ago, so stumbling upon a Brooklyn Brown Ale was a dream come true. Maybe it's because I haven't had anything like it in a long time, but I thoroughly enjoyed Brooklyn's brown ale. It pours a deep copper brown that only let a small amount of light in at the bottom of the Brooklyn 12 oz glass. Out of a bottle, it poured with about a finger of tannish-brown head that dissipated relatively quickly. There was essentially no lacing on the glass. The first thing you smell with Brooklyn Brown is chocolate followed by a subtle hint of coffee. Compared to the near excellent smell of the beer, I was slightly disappointed with the taste, but it still tastes wonderful with plenty of coffee moved to the forefront that gives this ale a bit of a bitter aftertaste. I also want to say that it initially tasted nutty, but that could just be some of the malts. Mouthfeel was wonderful as well; this is a very drinkable beer at 5.6%. Overall, Brooklyn Brand Brown Ale is something I will absolutely be returning to some time in the future. Cheers!

A: Dark brown in color yet still some opacity. Good head at pour disapptes to rim. Nice spotted lacing.
S: Malty, but other than that not a whole lot.
T: Again malts and mild hopping.
M: Light but nice for a darker beer on a warmer day.
O: Solid beer.
