It is a pale goldwith a sligth haze and a good sized head. The aroma has some dleicate hops and some grain. The taste is good despite a slight corn flavor. It has some good malt in the medium body and a good bitter finish. Not the best lager in town, but a solid beer.

On-tap at Pivovarský Dům, Prague, Czech Republic

A: The beer is hazy pale yellow in color and poured with a two finger high head that took a long time to die down.
S: There are moderate to strong aromas of bready malts in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste is rather malty but is nicely balanced by the Saaz hops, which leaves some notes of citrus flavors. The finish is bitter and leaves you longing for another sip.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a light to medium amount of carbonation.
D: The beer is very easy to drink and quite sessionable.

just back from prague with some updates/additions for this brewery. typed up from hand written note taken at the microbrewery.

A = Gold, slightly hazy, half finger of head settles quickly

S = Maltiness, some honey, a little vanilla, tinge of hops but very little, nothing overpowers the nose

T = Honey at first, maltiness jumps out from the midpoint on, smooth amount of hops throughout and both the malt and hops linger afterwards, a truly full-feeling flavor

M= Mild to high carbonation tingles the tongue, very light feel, wet and crisp

D = Great example of a pilsner as it should be, could probably put this down all night

Probably one of my favorite czech pilsners - though it is unpasteurized, the spices and hops are not too out of control and yet are still more lively than the other pilsners. Has a great balance between sweetness and bitterness

Tried at the brewery in Prague.

Cloudy dark gold body. Good lacing, tending to offwhite head. Minimal carbonation, collapsing head with big bubbles.

Hoppy fragrant nose, with a zingy metallic smell, quite citrussy, but with a nice sweeter fruit fragrance too. Very nice.

Excellent hoppy bitter palate, fragrant and fresh. Hints again of ripe fruit, but the sharp hop bite cuts throudh the sweetness. Quite wonderful.

Mouthfeel sharp and crisp; a perfect complement.

Could this be the best Czech pils in the world? Quite possibly. Whatever beer holds that mantle should be quaking in its boots in any case. Wonderful.

I had this at the Pivovarsky Dum brewery in Prague in July 2006, served in a 4 liter giraf, with a side of beer cheese and their tender venison for dinner. Excellent golden color, of course impressive in the giraf, and it certainly looks like a classic light lager. A bit fewer bubbles than most Czech beers though, which is also apparent in the mouthfeel, which comes across a little flat. The biggest surprise in the flavor was the hops, which were taken up a notch or two from the standard classic Czech lagers, and I enjoyed it very much. The Czech hops have a very refined flavor, and come across very nicely in the aroma as well. As far as drinkability, this was almost perfect...my colleagues and I readily consumed 3 girafs, in addition to trying a giraf of the dark (and an abandoned attempt at stomaching a small glass of banana and nettle beer). I strongly recommend this brewery and this beer if you are in Prague, it is very inexpensive, and has great food to accompany the beer as well.

Tasted this unfiltered pale pilsner at the brewpub for three times during my visit to Prague last week.
From the appearance it's quite hazy, yellowish/pale golden, with a white, foamy head which sustains quite well.
The nose is full of soft, fruity hoppyness and has a slightly sweet grainy/corn-like malty touch to it--softly aromatic.
The taste is slightly sweet malty at first, against a good backbone of aromatic, fruity hoppyness and a kind of pleasantly "clashing" mouthfeel between the teeth and the tongue, which I sometimes experience when tasting maltier Pilsners. The mild grainy flavour works into the aftertaste, though by no means sweet, alongside a lingering, fruity hoppyness on the palate...
Light-bodied and medium-flavoured unfiltered pale lager, it goes down really well. However, the tasty flavour tends to decrease step by step, and from the second pint on it just gradually pales... to have just one pint of this beer at each visit proves the most pleasant for me. Recommended!

Pours a pale color as one would expect. This one isn't really too impressive. It's thoroughly drinkable and tastes quite good. It's got a bit of a hoppiness to it as one would expect of a czech pilsener, but it's nothing remarkable. Certainly worth the money and not a bad choice at all if you're in the mood for a pilsener, but there are better ones to be had elsewhere in town if you're looking for a really great one.
