12 oz brown long neck with no freshness dating. Kind of an ugly & different label..

Beer pours a fairly dark gold. Some head and decent lacing.

Beer smells fresh and you get some hop/pine and a bit of bread.

Taste is not bad. Some malt sweetness and a very mild hop bite. Beer seems to be well aged as it is very smooth. Not sure what makes it Italian, but it is fairly tasty. Examining the bottle, I see it is brewed by Huber/Berghoff out of Monroe, WI. They produce some decent beers so I'm not surprised that this contract produced beer has some good qualities. Easy to drink, but not really challenging.

Not sure I would go out of my way to pick-up, but I sure won't turn one down if offered.

p.s. Cugino means cousin in Italian.

Cugino: from the bottle. America’s First Italian Beer, whatever that means. Kind of a dull brownish color, absolutely clear.. Not much head, and what little it had did not have much staying power. The aroma is a little strange, with hints of wine and cider. The taste is initially somewhat bready malts, with a noticeable sweetness, that is quickly followed up by a slight hop flourish. All in all, this is not the most impressive beer, although its light in body, and might make a decent lawnmower beer, but for the price, why bother?

Pours a pale golden hue with a decent sized white head that fades quickly to a few thin patches and a "cling-ring" around the glass. Medium carbonation.
Yeasty aroma of baking bread with a grassy hop undertone. Rather weak in the taste department, not bad...just a little lacking. Taste is clean & crisp, just not a whole lot of character. Slightly malty--very little hop presence. Average mouthfeel. Drinkable, but there are much better offerings out there. Slightly above average.
