A traditional English-style brown ale, but with more body. Its deep brown color comes from a combination of Chocolate and Black malts. Tall, dark and smooth – the perfect cure for the domestic beer blahs.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a hazy murky brown with an off-white head which fades and doesn't lave too much lacing and there's decent retention. There's alot of sediment/floaties. The aromas are very faint. Lots of caramel and chocolate malts. There's some raisins in the mix as well. The flavors are very grainy and has mineral like characteristics. There's a touch of maple and vanilla. There's a very subtle bitterness. The mouthfeel is on the heavier side of light-bodied. There's a high amount of carbonation, fizzy, but smooth. Alcohol goes unnoticed.

As a big brown ale fan, I can't say this one really grabbed my attention.

Rootbeer color with some ruby hues coming through on the edges but pretty dark brown in the middle. Slight haze, pretty opaque. 1 Finger off white head that fades to a film fairly shortly. Tight bubbles of lace with every sip, very little stickiness. Nose of raw grain, toasted notes, maybe a little chocolate and caramel. Pretty clean aroma.dark Bready, caramael maltiness up front. Bit of offsetting bitterness towards the middle. Smokiness in the finish. Almost a burnt tobacco aftertaste. Medium body smooth mouhtfeel. Little light. Solid enough ale. Reminds me some of what I cam across in the pubs of London, but nothing spectacular. Very drinkable, would be a good session ale.
