The S&S deli is located right in the heart of Inman square, Cambridge.
The interior is beautiful. Large and spacious spread out over several rooms with a deli takeout section off to one side, as well as a small bar on the other. A combination of booths and tables sit amongst a very clean wood and brick decor. The soft jazz music and art on the walls make this one of the more inviting locations in the city.
The food here is really quite good. A top notch deli/coffee house. Breakfast all day, omelets, sandwiches, soups, bagels. salads, larger food items. Classic jewish/american deli food of the highest quality.
The beer selection, well they have beer. A pretty large beer list of a few dozen bottles and a handful of taps. All your basic macros and common imports. They have Sierra Nevada, Tremont, Stella, Anchor and some other, nothing to go crazy about, but enough. I usually stick with bottles, tap pours are only 12oz and are the same price as a typical 16oz pour. One nice aesthetic touch is if you look closely, right above the cashier they have a display bottle of St. Bernadus with an old school St. Sixtus label. (to bad they dont' serve it though)
My only issue here is the service. The waitstaff isn't very helpful and rarely comes by to see how your doing or for refills on anything. Once when we asked if they had any seasonal beers our waiter simply said he wasn't sure and left it at that. They take your order, bring your food and then bring the check after they see your done. Good luck getting a second beer if you're at a table.
Overall, the food is excellent, well worth going back for. This is my favorite place for breakfast in the Boston area. Boston really doesnt have enough classic delis like this, and this one is top notch. The beer makes a nice addition to a pastrami on rye, but if you want beer, Bukowskis is across the street.

This is an authentic Jewish Deli located in the heart of Inman Square in Cambridge. There is a satellite parking lot on Hampshire Street, you get validation in the restaurant. The restaurant itself is on the corner or Hampshire and Cambridge Streets, across from the fire department. An Inman Square fixture for decades it is an icon. It has two large dining rooms and a small bar area. Clientelle ranges from Harvard students to blue collar workers to hippies. The food is fantastic, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am fond of a "late" breakfast (they serve all day) and usually get salmon hash with pancakes. The beer selection is good too, I counted at least 8 taps with Harpoon, Sam, etc. The bottled collection is extensive also. I could eat here every day, no probelm. Do try it.
