Had this on tap at Pomegranate in Redmond.

This porter has a distinct similarity to every other porter out there. It is not a special beer by a long shot, and does not have a great deal going for it to make it unique from several of the other porters being produced in the pacific northwest.

Although porters aren't my favorite style, this one has to be the bottom of the heap.

Found this on tap at the Virginian Inn in seattle.
Appearance pours a very dark almost black supporting a light brown head leaving nice lace. Smell of rich roasted coffee malts. Taste of the roasted malt, dark coffee with a nice light blend of hops. mouthfeel is medium with light carbonation making go down smooth. A very enjoyable porter that one could sip on for awhile.

Pours beautiful dark brown into my snifter. Aroma foretells the chocolate. Nice and pleasant.
Taste is malt and chocolate. Trying to place the smooth feel that seemed so familiar and it hit me that it tastes and feels a lot like Guinness Draft but better.
Very smooth aftertaste with absolutely no cloy or bitterness.
A winner.

Served in a conical pint glass at Post Falls Capone's.

Black with a nice tan head. Head lingered a bit.

Aroma is sweet slightly smoky malt.

Nice malty flavor. A bit of smoky anise and molasses. Balance is quite good and there's a hint of sweet chocolate on the back.

Mouthfeel is very full with a lingering roasted aftertaste. Pleasent, but perhaps a bit much for a Porter.

Nice beer. Ill have another.

On tap at the Luna Park Cafe in West Seattle. Served in a regular pint glass. Slight head, and just a bit of lacing on the glass. Dark brown color with an opaque body. Smell had a nice dark chocolate aroma to it. Taste was rich with the flavors of cocoa and roasted malt. Mouthfeel was pretty good for a porter, but definitely not on the thick side. A smooth and easy beer to drink. A good local offering, but maybe not on par with some of the famous examples of the style.

For an American style porter, I can't think of anything better.

It pours somewhere between a burnt brown and dark black and is thick. It smells almost like chocolate mousse soaked in brandy smothered in baked malt.

Tastes smooth with a wonderful balance of sweetness and bitterness with strong chocolate malt flavors. Taste changes considerably as it warms.

Extremely drinkable but with noticeable complex flavors and a good amount of alcohol. Great beer.
