I brought a can of the Svelty home from a recent trip to Europe. The beer pours a clear golden color. A white head forms then becomes thin and there was slight lacing. The smell included grain/barly, some malt and a slight hop. The taste was similar to the smell....malt and grains with subtle hop. The mouthfeel was a light body with good carbonation. Overall is was a decent beer.

Two bottles purchase in Prague.
.5L Bottle Served in a Pilsner Glass.
A- Clear, Deep gold color. One finger head, mild retention, minimal lacing.
S- Toasted malts, fresh cut grass.
T- Toasted malts, cereal grains and subtle hops and mellow to a slightly bitter, herbal aftertaste.
M- mild body and carbonation.
D- This is a pretty good light lager, holds its own among other Czech beers of the same type.

This beer is not worthy, this is a good beer! I got this beer from a collegue who was in the neighbourhood for some skiing. Best before date was april the 27th 2011. A bit too late but not too bad.
Poured in my Dutch beerglass this beer looks surprisingly well. Two finger head and a goldenyellow fluid with great carbonation. Gooood,
A very drinkable beer, one of the better from this region.

No surprise at smell or taste level, we are totally in the register of Czech pilsner. A good malt in the nose, a mouth into both grassy and bitter that leads to a very light body (a bit too much), where subtle touches of hops for both fresh and green, come on ltongue . Easy to drink without excel level flavors.

Poured from half liter bottle into half liter Staropramen mug.
Appearance: Pours a typical golden color with a nice, pretty thick white head. Doesn't leave as much lace as expected, and the bubbles coming up are kind of lacking.
Smell: Sweet with grains and hop spice, but has a strange metallic smell.
Taste: Sweet and somewhat fruity, with a good bitterness at the end. However, it leaves a strange taste in the back of the throat that is rather unpleasant.
Mouthfeel: Average pilsner. Light to medium body with light carbonation. Well-rounded.
Drinkability: Overall a good session beer, but nothing too special. All I can really say is that this is a good beer, but has no outstanding qualities. I'm sure I'll be having it again and will not complain, but there is much better to be found in this style.

Beer bottle (50cl), tasted in 2000 (in Prague).
Appearance : Golden color, with little white foam head.
Smell : Hopped and fruity aromas.
Taste and mouthfeel : Fruity, floral and dry flavored, soft palate.
Drinkability : an average beer in the Czech pilsener style.

In Russia, Staropramen delegated the production of beer to Russian brewery (very empty lager-pilsener) - that's why I was surprised when I met the Chech version of Svetly (Light) in Moscow shop. This version has a very clean golden colour. The head is not very steady - dissapears in a minute. Bubbles are small to medium. Carbonization from medium to small. The smell has a very distinctive component of hops. There is a nice bitterness in smess and in taste. The finish is a little dry. This beer has a medium to empty body. Great drinkability. One of my favourite chech pilsner!

Brought back from czech republik and best before 29-12-06. White not too persistant head and clear golden beer. Taste is Czech homepeople minded like. This means watery with litle malttaste and some bitterness in the back. Listing maltosesyrup on label.. Missing the long lagering taste though. IMO quiet empty but certainly style like, refreshing and with a good meal and more brews to come a good session beer.
