The most helpful staff I've ever dealt with outside of my own shop. They have a ton of stuff and know what they're talking about when making suggestions or offering advice. IMO best shop in Vermont.

My forever only stop for Lawson and Heady, I love you.

This is an outstanding place to find beers in Vermont. The have added a great beer manager lately who is working hard to bring in new beers all the time. If you are looking for something specific, it is always best to ask for Evan, the beer manager as he is the most knowledgeable about what they have in. Also if you happen to be in the mood for spirits they have a decent selection for that as well. if you are visiting VT and hoping to find something specific here, I suggest you facebook them, Evan will take care of you. Enjoy all the different beers they have!

Cheers,
Dave

strong on selection of beers relatively speaking. better than anything on my recent trip through 3 states including Maine. However Biggest NY, NJ,Mas. and Illinois spots to name some, had better selection than this. Very buzy for late Sunday afternoon. Not too many new release bottles left. Punky attitude by some staff. Good selection of locals. Prices not cheap though not outrageously high. Accessibility if you are at or around Burlington. A little tricky with streets despite maps, GPS. Have both.

The famous Winooski Beverage Warehouse!

An average-looking booze shop in this suburb-or-what-have-you of Burlington, with ample parking. From the outside, you would never guess the riches that await inside.

There is a liquor section on the right as you enter (with a different cashier per Vermont law), a ton of wine all around and the beer goodness to your left.

First you hit the coolers, with small breweries like Northshire Brewing, Spanish Peaks, Berkshires and Lawson's (only the Blonde available, though). They were out of Heady Topper...

Then go into what I would call the "beer supermarket", with aisle after aisle of brews from all over. It is strange, though, because they have lots of imports and entire aisles devoted to things like English and German brews but you won't find a lot of basic stuff like Dogfish 60 or Stone IPA.

For me, it's all about the vintage cabinet, with 2008 Double Bastard and tone RIS/IRS, Old Stock 09-10, Brooklyn Monster, Founders Better Half... serious shit!

Service was a little lacking. The place was packed on a Saturday evening and I had to track down a beer guy to open the vintage cabinet. He was cool once I found him, but it's not like you're going to get eager service here, I don't think.

I want to go back and get more vintage shit!!

visited while in burlington last weekend. about a 15 minute drive from downtown burlington where my buddy lives.

pretty typical looking beer store imo. plenty of bottles, but the store did feel a little dirty/unorganized....to help you out, beers are to the right, all the way to the back.

so once one gets past the cosmetics (and dont get me wrong, you should be able to), enjoy strolling through the bottle section. organized by imports/domestics/crafts, there is also a solid in-state selection (rock art, heady topper, lawsons, and hill farmstead (when available)). mainstays and a few harder to finds from belgium and germany. plenty of cheap american brands if you are just looking for some beers to mindlessly throw back.

the best thing about my visit was i was able to get in touch with them before hand (via facebook) and had them set aside some topper and lawson's. would have had them set aside some hill farmstead as well but they were out. i HIGHLY recommend doing this if you are making a quick visit and you want to leave with some of these brews!

like the other reviews say, definitely worth checking out if you are in the burlington area. check out their facebook page to see what they most recently got.

Great place with a great bottle selection and friendly staff.

Stopped here on my way to Burlington. Got lucky with some Lawsons bottles and also found a bunch of other great seasonal/limited selections and fresh Heady Topper! One of the employees (possibly the owner) was incredibly friendly and helped me find some limited releases and some of the better Vermont locals after I mentioned that I was from out of town.

The store is pretty big with aisles dedicated to European and American craft beer and a wall of refrigerators that kept the Heady Topper and Lawsons cold with a few others.

Will definitely stop by on my next trip through Vermont.

UPDATE: January 5, 2013 - I am reducing my rating because I just realized that they're misleading their customers. While there, i bought a few six packs because the labels on their shelves indicated that they were highly rated on BeerAdvocate. After comparing them to actual BA reviews, it's apparent that the labels were misleading and worse, intentionally placed to move their crappy products. TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES...

This place is pretty cool. I was in Vermont earlier in the week and decided to hop around and try a few brewpubs and the like. After asking around, I learned that this was probably the best place in the Burlington, VT area to get some craft beer. I was a bit disappointed, however I would recommend this place. I ended up buying a few of the hard to find Vermont beers. Mostly stuff from ROCK ART and HARPOON. I've certainly seen better selections, however this appears to be probably the best place to find craft beer in the Burlington/Stowe area.

People there are really nice. Great service. Biggest selection in vermont. They carry Heady topper and lawson's (plus also every craft brewery in vermont) so it automaticly makes it a place worth a stop. Clean place. Its really easy to shop because of the way everything is displayed. They also carry a really nice selection of wine and spirits. Its not very far from the highway so it as also an easy acces. I make it there everytime i go to Vt and will continue to do so.

Keep on the good work guys!

As far as I can tell, this is the crown jewel of VT beer shops. A big room for liquor, a big room for soda, and a big room for beer. But only one of those interests me. The layout and selection of the beer section kind of reminded me of Portland, Oregon's Belmont Station, though I don't think the variety was quite as diverse, though it was still quite impressive. Aside from the typical macros, there is a great selection of craft beer, including VT locals and favorites (Hill Farmstead and Lawson's in stock, when applicable, and scads of Heady Topper), as well as token stuff from most of your expected US breweries: DFH, Stone, etc. Other rarities (for people outside of the area anyway) like Maine Beer Co. Lunch also pop up here and there. Prices are decent.

Definitely the go-to place for good bottle selection in VT.

Beverage Warehouse is an apt name - they stock a huge supply of wine, soda, and of course beer. There is an entire beer room to the left when you enter with all the standard micros (DFH, Stone, Sierra Nevada, etc) and of course the VT/NE selections including Alchemist, Lawson's, Rock Art, Maine Beer, White Birch. There is also a large cooler area with some offerings you won't find on the shelves.

It wasn't clear if they sell singles, but a large number of 6 packs seemed to be missing a bottle or two. Either way I was mostly interested in bombers or 750s so it wasn't an issue. I did notice some freshness concerns (Smuttynose pumpkin and other fall seasonals around in April?), but with a place this big it's hard to avoid sometimes. From following them on twitter I know they get in bigger scores from time to time (HF bottles, Cantillon, Founders Better Half, etc), but I didn't find anything jaw dropping on my stop. Still easily the largest selection of VT/NE craft beer we found on our trip and a must stop.
