Checking around, I found some more new Minhas cans. Buying a six pack to add another can for my collection, and to pass some on to fellow can collectors.
This beer pours out of the can clear, yellow golden color and a short layer of white bubbles, (not really head, or even foam). No lace since the bubbles were gone by the time I had finished emptying the contents into my glass.
It smells sweet, and sour, both at the same time. The taste was the same, with a sour aftertaste. Trying to describe it, all I can come up with is overly sweet, fermented apple juice. At least there is no alcohol burn with it.
Body is thin and watery, but still there is a sticky film left coating my mouth.
Not undrinkable, but not very enjoyable. In the spirit of Woody's CANquest, I finished the entire glass, refusing to dump the remainder.

355ml can, a one-off, single sub-twoonie purchase (a rarity around here, let me assure you of that) at the most local Liquor Depot to me.
This beer pours a clear, pale golden glow, with one fat finger of deflated puffy, foamy off-white head, which leaves a few thin streaks of lace around the glass as it beats it out of town.
It smells of sweet, adultered pastry malt, diluted nail polish (all the better to help one choke it down, I gather), a bit of freshly laid paint, and very anemic dusty, musty, um, er, 'hops'. The taste simulacrum is that of a sickly, overly saccharine day-old breadloaf smack to my balls, the subsequent recoil causing me to gag (or is it the other way around? Who the fuck cares). Anyhoo, the lipstick/acetone factor here is high, indeed, and should come with a damned nanny state sticker on the can.
The bubbles are in the witness protection program, or something, and good for them, the body a propped-up medium weight, one big-ass teetering house of cards, that. And the smoothness - sort of beside the point, doncha think? It finishes with a hollowing of the overwrought sweetness, which is no real treat, but still.
Murp. Well, nothing expected, nothing gained. This is getting crunked juice, and nothing more. A lack of discerning taste buds would be the least of your pre-reqs for this sad little gag-fest. Not too sure about the provenance of this vis-a-vis the Name Tag Lager on this site, but one can't be too careful in sussing out potentially offensive new ways of presenting the same old shit.
