Served in a Gale Sayers shaker pint glass.

I was unaware the Swiss had created a distinct style of amber. Regardless, it pours a clear bronze topped by a half-finger of white foam. The nose comprises toffee, light milk chocolate, and some light flowers. The taste holds notes of orange peel, caramel, flowers, wheat, and light mandarin orange syrup. Things do not seem to meld quite right, leaving me with a stale, old aftertaste. The body is a light medium, with a light carbonation and a slightly watery feel. Overall, an okay brew, nothing I would ever really look for again, but I wouldn't necessarily cringe were it offered to me.

This beer poured out as an orange color with a quick fading white head on top. No lacing or retention on this at all. The smell of the beer is sweet there is no real hop aroma at all. The taste is very sweet, very sweet almost gross. There is no bitterness at all. The mouthfeel of the beer is decently carbonated and just very one dimensional. Overall this beer was not impressive at all to me. Avoid this one.

This will be the last beer I will ever have from this brewery for sure!
Clear amber gold in color this one had very little tan head which disappeared right away into nothing. No lacing.
The smell is of malt and sugar.
The taste was a non pleasant malt sugar mix. Nothing desire able in it.
Never again!

The 3rd and final beer of my Minhas morning, and after the first 2 my expectations were low. Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has an amber color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some malts. Taste is disgusting, plastics, cough syrup, boiled veggies, blech. Feels light and yucky in the mouth and overall strike 3 for Minhas, this is the worst of the 3.

Clear amber, basically no head.

Caramel and malt in the nose, along with an artificial cherry flavor.

Strange metallic and cardboard notes, some malt in there somewhere.

Mouthfeel thin and flat.

It's becoming quite evident this is a brewery I will be staying away from.

Reviewed from notes.

Pours out a darker golden brown (but is it delicious? Ba-dum tish..) in color with thirty seconds' worth of off white foam on top, no lacing, no haze. Smells of strangely metallic bread. Kind of like a freshly baked loaf of bread with pennies stuck in the crust. Flavor is incredibly sweet, just barely shy of being cloying. I'm confused, am I drinking a malt liquor or an amber here? Hop presence is vanishingly small herbal dollops spotted here and there, finish is nothing more than a gradual die-down of the sweetness with nothing there to clip it off shorter like it ought to be. Texture is on the lighter side of medium thickness, could stand to be carbonated about 20% more aggressively. I'm not really impressed with this one.

Poured into a tulip glass.

Appearance: Mid Amber color. Not very cloudy, which for an amber is a good thing.

Smell: Good notes of the malts in the beer. Small notes of caramel.

Taste: Lighter amber taste. Not heavy at all. For an amber, I was hoping this would have a lot more character to it, but it was fairly bland.

Mouthfeel: Good feel, light and crisp. Not very hoppy and had some good notes of malts.

Overall: It was an ok beer. Definitely a beer to give a whirl, but not a beer to get excited about.

For an amber ale, one might suggest it was closer to brown or tan in color. As it was poured, the ale revealed a slight head. The aroma struck my sense as a bad joke. Plainly, the aroma was reminiscent of bubble gum flavored candy. Immediately, my sense of smell alarmed me to expect something more like Zima or Smirnoff Ice. The first taste was sweet like a novelty soda. There was no hint of any ingredients of beer in the initial. As the aftertaste waned, I was almost certain I consumed soda rather than beer. Being a diet coke drinker when not drinking beer, the sweet soda-like flavor was even more off-putting.

Reading the other reviews, it is apparent that something is not quite right about this beer.

Poured into a pint glass. No freshness date on bottle. Twist-off cap.

A: Cloudy copper. Foamy head dissipates quickly. No lacing.

S: Metal. Yep, metal.

T+M: More metal plus what others have called wet cardboard. Finishes with no hops but lots of metallic aftertaste. What the hell.

O: Blech. Maybe the bottle was old. Drain pour.

Appearance - Medium gold with hints of red. Clear and bubbly. Short cream colored head; not persistent. I'd like to see a little more amber from my swiss-style amber.

Smell - Light. A little caramel malts, breadiness, hint of citrusy hops.

Taste - Sickly sweet pale to medium roasted malts. Almost like a light syrup. Might be a little citrus in the finish, but overwhelmed by the syrupy sweetness. A little watery, too. This might be my least favorite non-macro beer I've tried.

Mouthfeel - Light, watery.

Overall - Minhas has a nice tour and I'm glad they saved the Monroe, Wisconsin brewery, but this beer is pretty poor.

A - Pours a cloudy amber in color topped by a one finger eggshell white head. Head retention was not the greatest as the head receded to a thin cap after a few minutes. Very little spotty lacing was left down the inside of my glass.

S - Sweet malt with a very slight hint of peppery spice lingering in the background.

T & M - Sweet caramel malt seems to be the main player here. This beer seems to have a sweet tea quality to it. Very, Very minor hop bitterness...hardly perceptible. Watery mouthfeel with a bit of tingle from the carbonation lingering on the sides of my tongue.

D - This is a beer that is lacking a lot of flavor but easily sessionable. Minhas has been a new brewery to me recently, and I've noticed their beers so far have been less than stellar. Maybe entry level as far as craft brewing goes...a beer for the masses that haven't got a lot of experience drinking craft beer.
