This beer is in fact black with a bit of brown shading when held up to the light. Has a nice malty, roasted smell to it. I really like the smoothness of this beer. Extremely drinkable, like other schwarz's I've had. Also has an excellent tang to it. Mouthfeel is smooth and drinkability is high. Overall very nice.
