Gets me fucked up, even better by the pitcher, stage side at a titty bar in port ontario. Use to drink this by he case load in my 20's. a great beer to achieve the ultimate goal of drinking till drunk. The more you drink the better it tastes. Great memories.

LOOK: Pours a clear golden color, white head forms and has some staying power, but eventually recedes to a ring.
SMELL: Has that cheap beer smell, mainly corn but certainly other adjuncts.
TASTE: Creamy malt and miscellaneous grain sweetness, and a good dose of processed hops that does provide a coarse bitterness. Still finishes on the sweet side. The alcohol is well hidden.
FEEL: Medium bodied, well carbonated, slick on the palate leaving a bittersweet corn flavor behind.
OVERALL: This is much better than I remember. Used to pound these in college.

Ah, Canadian-brewed beers in big cans. I was a big fan of Canadian Foster's for many years until they started brewing it in Texas and Alabama. Also a big fan of Molson Golden until they started brewing it in Colorado. Been meaning to try this one for a review for quite some time. Hope it lives up to my previous experience.
Served in an Imperial pint glass.
-Appearance 2.5: Very light golden color. Looks kind of watery. I imagine the brewmaster was going for something different, maybe a "true golden color" or something. Regardless, dropping some 40L grains in there would have made it look more...professional.
-Smell 3.0: The bouquet is of sweet barley with some slight adjunct hints. This has a distinct lager smell, which is sometimes bad, but in this case is actually just average.
-Taste 2.75: Front is slightly sweet, with adjunct hints of corn coming through the taste. Middle is smooth and light with slight tastes of barley. Finish is big with waves of sweet, malty goodness. However, this quickly fades into a smooth aftertaste that features more corny adjunct flavors. Are there hops in this? Maybe kent golding or something way down the alpha scale. Also, there is a pervasive, unnatural quality to this beer. The word "industrial" springs to mind. It started to grow in my palate after each sip until I felt like just giving up and stopping my session.
-Mouthfeel 3.25: Spot on for this style. Carbonation (CO2, of course) was refreshing and hit the mark. Nice, smooth mouthfeel, also.
-Overall 2.75: This brew is certainly not going to win any medals, but it is not the nightmare experience that some would have you believe it to be. It is a big beer and since it is a cheap beer, that means lots of adjuncts. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing regarding bouquet and mouthfeel. This is not a bad beer and you sure as shootin' could do a lot worse. I would recommend it to be consumed in limited quantities. Not a session beer unless you live in a cardboard box near the railyard.
