This is not a NEIPA. Not hazy. Piney. No juicy hops. $15 a 4-pack. Tastes like the beer i brewed a month ago and I'm NOT good homebrewer.

Per the brewer (and text on the can), this is intended to be a NE IPA. In reality, it's probably more of a hybrid.
Great looking beer, for sure. Totally opaque, mildly hazy gold-copper body with a bid, 1+ finger head of fluffy, off-white, extremely compact and uniform bubbles that laces wonderfully. Definitely not a traditional IPA, but certainly not a full plunge into the world of haze, either. That's neither a compliment nor criticism, it just is what it is.
Aroma profile is disappointing regardless of what category you were expecting. There's just not much going on for an IPA. Very bready (white bread or light wheat), little citrus, grassy notes, fairly herbal, with maybe a little stone fruit. Certainly not bad but really inexpressive and unexciting.
Flavors are better, and more West Coast IPA (for my tastebuds) than NE IPA. Really nice (but not strong) citrus (specifically orange and ruby red grapefruit), puckering pith, nice malt backbone, lots of herbal greens and a good amount of piney resin. Fairly mellow overall, but what's there is quite nice for a general IPA lover. (Not sure how much a lover of non-bitter NE IPAs would enjoy this, however.)
Feel is soft and velvety with a really nice amount of carbonation. Slight semi-sweet and bitter finish. Zero heat or booze.
Very solid beer, and something very new for a brewer typically doing different and exotic things. This doesn't fit into "exotic" territory by any means, but it's a good drinker for what it is. I'm now curious about other offerings in the Humulus series.

Big thanks to richj1970 for another Mantra treat!
Pours a quite cloudy gold/orange with a finger of thick white foam that hangs on for a while, eventually ending as lasting cap and rings of lace on glass.
Light/med. strength aroma, featuring some general citrus notes, herbal and pine notes behind that, and some doughy sweet that carries hints of tart yeast.
Med. strength taste featuring bitter orange, sweeter citrus notes, herbal bitter, spicy grain flavors, and ends with herbal bitter and pine drying things out, but still pretty juicy.
Light on palate, med. viscosity, highly refreshing, a touch watery, with a finish that "peters out short of the mark" so to speak.
Gottal love Mantra always trying to put their own spin on shit. It has a uniqueness in flavor I can't accurately describe, leave it to say it isn't the fig flavor adv. on can. Quite tasty if underwhelming beer, wouldn't pass it by if you see it fresh.
