Ordered from Blackwell's in San Francisco. 22oz bomber poured into a pint glass (my chalice was dirty)

Weird beer. Not sure what to make of it. Sports a DEEP copper brown appearance and reeks of malt. Text my buddy that it must be labeled wrong as a DIPA, but apparently it is. Huge malty flavor. Oily and thick and boozy at 9.3%

Not your typical DIPA. Give it a whirl if you can.

A: pours a deep gold that might as well be light brown with an off white dense two finger head that retains very well in a Duvel Tulip
S: smells of earthy and herbal hops, general bitterness and an underlying sweetness
T: earthy and herbal hops and some citrus. very green hop flavor but the malt doesn't come out. swallow is some herbal and earthy hop flavor and a bit of toasted malt
M: soft and slightly prickly carbonation with a slightly heavy mouthfeel
O: good bitterness and decent hop flavor. The malt is there in the background but it struggles to balance the bitterness although the beer looks to have plenty of color. I wasn't too impressed at first but it's growing on me the more I drink it.

Fresh bottle sent directly to Toronto from the brewer. Fairly mild DIPA, hoppiness noted however its not the hops in the face expectation of the style. Light creamy yellow body with no observed head. Medium mouthfeel. A bit much malt. Decent drinkability.

My wife works at a bottle shop, and received this beer from the owner to sample. I'm a big DIPA fan, so I was hopeful.

Sasquatch Ale pours a surprisingly dark, cloudy red color with a low, foamy head.

The nose is typical for a DIPA, powerfully sweet and malty with piney hop notes.

The mouthfeel is as thick as Speakeasy's Double Daddy, which is to say quite heavy and syrupy.

First sip was disappointing, but the real impression came on the second sip, after letting some air in. This beer is all over the place, sickly sweet and a little sour, almost medicinal, with the hop lost in the mix. The aftertaste is quite bitter and lingers well after each sip.

Overall, the most disappointing DIPA I've had yet.

Poured from a bomber bottle into my Deschutes tulip...

A - Pours a hazy golden orange color, with a 1 finger off-white head. Spotty lacing as I sip.

S - Earthy pine hop aromas. Actually the smell is more assertive than I thought it would be. Nice.

T/M - The taste starts off kind of malty sweet, then evolves to a resinous hops finish. The hop finish does stick around for a while, but I like that in my DIPAs. Somewhat medium mouthfeel. Almost tongue coating, but not cloying. Nice carbonation.

O - I set my expectations low for this one, since it's a DIPA that has no bottle dating on it. So I figured it might be old, but to my surprise it's actually quite good. The hop character is more piney/earthy than floral/citrus. Nice bitter aspect, and the 9% is very well hidden.

Tap@Six Rivers. Sweet and hoppy, but without the bitter finish that a good DoubleIPA should, still pretty tasty, maybe i scored it too low, but i didn’t get into it that much. As i say, this is quite average for a Double IPA, so my score reflects that.
