Paid just $5.99 for a growler at Party Source in Bellevue, KY...
The beer pours a clear golden base with a moderately sized white head, excellent retention and minimal lacing effects on the pint glass. The aroma is a four-seasons delight of lemon, yeast, malt, and bananas... smells like heaven!
The taste is near exceptional to the hefeweizen character, moderate body, excellent sweet banana aftertaste and well-balanced between the four tones noted in the aroma. Very pleasant in the mouth, the head gives it a smooth finish when its all said and done. Drinkable? Try very! This is to me a session beer to be reckoned with and with a full growler between two people, I wanted the entire jug of sweet sweet nectar!
Final Thought: This is a remarkable creation from a solid standing brewery down in Lexington, KY. I want to get a refill on this baby ASAP before they switch to another keg. Fantastic!

Kentucky Brewing Company invited homebrewers / AHA members to participat in this Pro-Am event. Thirteen brewers participated and this beer was selected for up-scale brewing by the brewery and submission to the GABF Pro-Am division. This Weissbier, behind the recipe formation of Bill Caldwell, took silver metal in the division. A big congratulations to Bill, Christopher, Adam, and all others associated with this beer.
Enough of the aimless plugs; let's get to the beer... Starts with an impressive glow of canary yellow and strong straw colors. Very well headed with a stark-white head formation and retained exclusively well. The beer shows strong brussels lace on the glass as each sip is taken. Soft, yet pronounced aromas of bananna, clove, bubble gum (juicy fruit) emit from the rim of the glass, woven into a firm blend of wheat malt and barley malt. Soft Witbier-like spices of corriander and curraco follow up in the twangy and bready yeast character. The flavor follows up on all of this along with a hearty sweetness taking on cookie-dough proportions with some citrus (orange and lemon) tastes. Soft and delicate on the palate. Very creamy textures fill the mouth with, again, a Wit-like feel. Finishes with a spicy-sweet powdery whisp that lets go of any astringncy or bite to make for an ideally drinkable beer. It's in the same class of Ayinger Brauweiss or Weinhenstphaner Weissbier. Good job Bill!
