Notes:
Kentucky Light is a light bodied easy drinker for a thirst quenching low calorie, low carb experience. The aroma is lively with a crisp, zesty finish. That’s because our specialized yeast, said to be the life force in beer, is the single greatest flavor contributor to this remarkably smooth and flavorful microbrew sure to be a Bluegrass favorite for years to come. Whether you’re strictly a light beer drinker or prefer a medium bodied microbrew, one taste of Kentucky Light will prove you can have a great tasting light beer full of flavor without all the calories.

12 ounce bottle. Served in a Kentucky Light glass, the beer pours a mostly clear straw gold color with about a quarter inch white head that stayed around for a bit. There's a small amount of lacing. The brew smells like grainy/bready malt and some light grassy/herbal hops. Taste is just like the aroma, mostly grainy with a clean finish. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's nice and refreshing, and is well carbonated. It's easy to drink, it certainly wouldn't be a problem to drink a 6-pack of this. I think it's a nice lighter beer, it's worth a try.

Kolsch seems to be a difficult style for American brewers to pull off. This one is par for the course with more grass, grain, and hop influence than I have experienced in German kolschs. Thus is a decent beer, but as a kolsch, it doesn't really work for me.

Lexington Brewing : Kentucky Light
LOOK: Pale, straw yellow. Small bone white fizzy head. Some lace.
SMELL: Lager yeast, cereal grains, faint flowery hop.
TASTE/FEEL: Light lager all day, with cereal grains, malt sweetness, a flash of bitterness, and no real finish. Light bodied, highly carbonated.
OVERALL: Pretty mainstream lager, but would go just fine with a BBQ or sandwich as a cleansing rinse.

Pours a pale light golden color with a bright fizzy white head, dwindles quickly leaving minimal lace. This beer shows promise of being more than a standard light beer because it's labeled a Kolsch. Aroma some semi sweet malt notes nice fruitiness, herbal grassiness with a hint of yeast character. Flavor has a clean blank canvas of pale malt with light fruitiness and hints of metallic mineral notes. Mild earthiness, light herbal quality very light beer. Light biscuit malts finishes clean with a bit of carbonated water like texture. Light body with a strong level of carbonation flowing finishes pretty clean. Easy effortless drinking experience there's not much to analyze definitely a beer that would do well with the crossover or the BMC drinker.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
Appearance is a very slightly hazy pale yellow with a tiny head that is quick to disappear.
Smell is a little corn and a lot of bready grain with some grassy hops thrown in there as well.
Flavor is much like the smell. Bready grain along with a little bit of cooked vegetables. Light hay and grass along with a slight bitterness towards the finish. Finishes pretty crisp.
I'm don't think this is a really great example of a kolsch but tastes more like a dirty pilsener. Flavors aren't all that great but it is an excellent thirst quencher.
