Notes:
With nearly one pound of real fruit per gallon, Alaskan Raspberry Wheat has the inviting aroma of fresh-picked raspberries and an enticing red hue. The flavor of the raspberries lends a tartness that balances the full-bodied wheat profile and malt sweetness. Bigger than most traditional fruit beers, Alaskan Raspberry Wheat adds an extra kick to its dry and effervescent finish.

on sale for just under 7 bucks. pours a really thick and cloudy purpley brown color with a pretty excited off white head ab out 2 inches tall. it smelled like raspberry jam, sweet and homemade, but not fresh berries. there was also a surprisingly bold malt profile to this, biscuity, like dessert. the flavor was a little weird i thought, bright berry taste at first, fading to a sweet english malt sweetness. there is also quite a bit of fruity yeast to this as well, which gives it a unique mouthfeel. i wasnt in love with the feel though, its pretty dense for a fruity wheat beer, and the yeast makes it even heavier. carbonation was good. this was a fun beer overall, but i dont think it totally came together in an amazing way. still, always glad to try their pilot series stuff.

Wonderful aromatic beer with hint of raspberry tartness but not to tart and some other floral notes i couldnt pinpoint but smells quite nice and the taste doesn't disappoint either had the good fortune to be at The Mad Hatter in Stillwater Minnesota and always has great taps like the amazing beers being put out of Alaskan Brewery so if you enjoy beers brewed with fruit give it a shot

Alaskan Raspberry Wheat flies out of the Pilot Series and splashes into the glass as a hazy, deep ruby colored brew. An off-white head sits a top the beer and seems to have a reddish tint - retention and lace are both pretty good. Raspberry dominates the nose, that and slight whiffs of raspberry. A slight tartness and touch of sourness begin and fade quickly as the raspberry flavors take over with the wheat flavors only slightly noticeable. The wheat provides a good base in this medium body, moderate carbonated brew. Cannot wait for the Baltic Porter to return this year!
Cheers!

Pours a slightly murky reddish-brown with a foamy tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt/grain/wheat and some raspberry and other berry aromas. Taste is much the same with a slight tartness to it. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is drinkable and refreshing but not something I would likely go after again.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Look - dark red in color, clear, with good carbonation and about half a finger's worth of light tan-colored foam that dissipates slowly.
Smell - malty fruity smell, not too surprising. Not much otherwise.
Taste - Also a fruity/malty smell, also not surprising. And not much else in the taste otherwise.
Mouthfeel - pretty well-balanced, but leans a little on the watery side.
Overall - Not a bad brew at all, but not terribly complex

Possible freshness dating stamped on the bottle near the bar code reads

C 111412
A= Pours a reddish brown color with a thick two fingers of head on it that holds great retention and lacing on the side of the glass.
S= Smells like fresh unsweetened raspberries. A nice sweeter beer is the base with a slight tartness to it as well. There is a little bit of a wheat character but it's a little light.
T= The taste brings the wheat through much better. This makes it much more of a "beer" and less of a fruit juice. There is a bit of the unsweetened raspberries in there but mostly just a really great wheat character.
M= A nice average carbonation and weight.
O= This is a solid beer from Alaskan. Not over the top fruit but just enough to back up the wheat character. The beer itself isn't overly sweet like many fruit beers are but rather a nice compliment to the wheat.

Poured into a pint glass.
2.5 A: Moderately hazed orange amber color. Two fingers of frothy beige/tan head. Retention is poor and no lacing is left.
3.5 S: Smells just like raspberry cider or something along those lines. Lots of raspberry, but not a lot of "beer." Still, it smells good enough.
3.0 T: It tastes like beer, but not a very impressive one. Standard, neutral maltiness. Enough raspberry to give some flavor and a mild tartness, but not enough to make its addition work (unlike NG RT).
3.5 M: Lighter medium body. Good higher end carbonation. Not very creamy, but crisp.
3.0 D: Drinkable, but not something you'd buy again.

Poured from 22 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams "Perfect Pint" glass.
Appearance: Pours a deep and cloudy reddish orange with lots of rising bubbles. Huge five finger head which is off white with a light tint of red. Decent retention. Leaves a lot of lacing on the glass.
Smell: Huge raspberry aroma along with the wheat. Wheat grains and pale biscuity malts. Very strong smell of raspberry fruits that are moderately tart and sweet. Light hints of earthy hops in the background. A straightforward smell but a good one.
Taste: Like the smell indicates, a big taste of raspberries. The fruits are moderately tart and not overly sweet. Solid base of wheat grains. A little hint of caramel malts. Surprisingly solid earthy hop presence adds a little spicy bitter kick. Tastes very good for the style.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Creamy, juicy, and slightly syrupy. Crisp and smooth.
Overall: A pretty solid fruit beer. Raspberries are used well and not overly sweet. Nice hope presence behind the fruits.
