With nearly one pound of real fruit per gallon, Alaskan Raspberry Wheat has the inviting aroma of fresh-picked raspberries and an enticing red hue. The flavor of the raspberries lends a tartness that balances the full-bodied wheat profile and malt sweetness. Bigger than most traditional fruit beers, Alaskan Raspberry Wheat adds an extra kick to its dry and effervescent finish.

Pours a medium dark red color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aroma is raspberry. Taste is tart raspberry with a slightly bitter finish. Crisp and dry.

Raspberry wheat pours a reddish color, with not much head. Very mellow aroma, hints of fresh raspberries. Flavor is lighter, with a subtle, not too sweet, raspberry flavor. Goody body and feel. Overall, its a lighter, not too sweet, fruit beer.

Had on tap. Pours clear reddish brown in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is raspberries and wheat. Light bodied, moderate carbonation and sweet. The beer delivers what it says it is going to. Good raspberry taste, but nothing exciting and nothing I have not had before. Decent, but will have several other Alaskan beers before I try this again.

From the 22 oz bottle in a snifter. This FINE brew pours a rich dark reddish mahogany
with a nice head of white foam that subsides to a thick ring and thin pooling layer with subtle
lacing. Nose of rich raspberries drenched in honey, breaded malts, some light grain notes, and
subtle floral notes as well. Flavors hit the note with breaded malts and grain elements hit
nicely and squarely in the middle with a balanced raspberry note that has notes of honey
and light cracker elements mingling with light herbal hop notes. Excellent mouth feel; medium
light body, moderately dry, and a fruit touched wheat laden finish. Overall a stand out brew from a great
brewery.

Cheers

22 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 10/1/2016. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/amber light reddish/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big juicy and lightly tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance of raspberries, bready malt, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy and lightly tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness; and tangy fruit tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy/tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great robustness and balance of raspberries, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/tartness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitter/tart/tangy notes as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy/creamy, and slightly acidic/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is a great fruit beer! All around great robustness and balance of raspberries, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the lightly tart/tangy/bitter finish. Perfectly balanced fruit and pale/wheat malts, with just enough hop presence to balanced the sweetness. Never slick or syrupy from fruit notes. A very enjoyable offering.

Poured into an English pint glass.
The appearance was a semi-dark purple to dark brown woody color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that swiftly slid off to leave some super light lace running here and there.
The aroma had a decent blend between sweet and tart red raspberry tones closing down on some sweet wheaty portions and bringing about some hints of sweet grass.
The flavor leaned towards the blend of the sweet and tart raspberry qualities. Wheat played a little bit with the sweet quality but seemed more relaxed as the aftertaste seemed to absorb the raspberry sweet and tartness.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied and had a good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt spot on. ABV felt fine. Wheat helped create a nice absorbent body.
Overall, pretty nice raspberry wheat ale that Alaskan did. Well worthy to have during the warmer months of the year! Also, might be nice with some cheesecake to fashion a great Summer evening dessert.
