Murky, pale yellow. Thin white head. Lacing is moderate. Aroma is very fragrant and fresh. Great corriander notes with a little orange zest coming through as well. Flavor is very well received. Nice wheat base with great spicing accenting. Freshly crushed corriander, lemon, orange... Very refreshing a flavorful. One of the better wits I've run across. Lingering dryness begs another sip. Moderate to moderately high carbonation. Great wit.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. 04/10/09.
Pours a mostly clear golden color with about a finger of soft whitish head. The head quickly disappeared to almost nothing, poor retention. Aroma is citrusy and spicy, with orange, lemon, and coriander.
Taste is similar to the aroma. Sweet up front with lots of wheat and citrus flavor. Orange peel and zesty lemon are prominent, as is a good amount of coriander and light pepper. The finish is slightly tart with an herbal hop presence. Very tasty with a great spice character.
Feel is very good. Plenty of carbonation helps to create a smooth and light-medium body. The finish is nice and dry. Drinkability is great. I couldn't put my glass down. The low ABV almost makes it sessionable.
Overall, a very good witbier. Very tasty and refreshing for a warm day. Definitely give this one a try.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams pint glass.
Appearance: Murky golden orange with lots of bubbles and a little bit of particles floating around. Good two finger white head that has good retention and lacing.
Smell: Strong scent of coriander spice and oranges with wheat and a little bit of lemon. Also has hints of coconut, banana and other fruits.
Taste: A sweet and spicy mix of oranges, coriander, lemon, and wheat is followed by a strong kick of coconut with a little banana. The coconut adds a tasty and interesting balance in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Very crisp.
Overall: A very tasty and interesting take on a Witbier. I really like the coconut finish. It makes this beer stand out to me among other American versions of this style.

About a one inch off-white head when poured into a frosted heavy beer mug. Head lasted about one minute and left a clean top layer of bubbles. Liquid is a cloudy golden color and has a pleasant slightly fruity aroma. Taste is wonderful and seems to have a hint of coriander and possibly a cinnamon like spice. Mouth feel is very good as is it's drinkability.
I like this one, a very nice product.

The color when poured was a medium amber brown, with very little foam but did have a lot of lace on the side of the glass the whole time. The smell of spice and mild hops had a pleasant aroma. The taste was of spices, mild hops and a hint of malts and yeast, as in bread taste. A very nicely balance of components, without the bittness. Drink and enjoy this White Ale for Alaska!

Enjoyed on-tap @ Schlafly's Bottleworks in Maplewood (St. Louis), MO. Poured into my 12 oz Schlafly cup and based my choice of enjoying this beer from my old high school friends around me that thought it was interesting.
Appearance- Received with 2 fingers of head, a Pale/Yellow colored body with a white cloudiness (Hence White Ale). The lace was very thin but abundant and had a decent retention that lasted for minutes.
Smell- Smells very citric at first but then a Coconut aroma comes over it and makes the whole beer smell like this. Possibly a licorice smell as well. Very wild!
Taste- Starts out with a ton of Coconut flavor once again and then a very sweet (malt) and grainy (wheat) taste that makes this a great WitBier! Can't get any better!
Mouthfeel- Medium bodied, Semi-Crisp and has a slick backend. Leaves this Coconut flavor on the palate once again!
Overall- This one was great but since the day (extremely cold), I would rather drink IPA's, Barley Wines, or even Winter Ales that go more with the weather. Would love to try more from the Alaskan Brewing Co. because their 2 beers I had were A's for sure! Going to look for their beers in bottle when I get a chance.

Hazy gold with a 2 finger white head with food retention and some lacing. The aroma has orange peel, coriander, and bread.
The taste also has orange peel, coriander, and bread. Has a slightly sweet flavor. Nothing about the flavor is overwhelming. This just a nice solid beer which is a pleasure to drink on a warm summer afternoon.
Light bodied, average carbonation, crisp, smooth, and clean. I can see drinking this beer over and over during the summer months.

After months of reading reviews here goes my first beer review.
My son and daughter in law returned from Alaska today and brought me this as a gift. Much better gift than a t-shirt!
Poured from a bottle into pint glass.
Appearance: 2 finger head that dissipated fairly quickly. Nice golden color
Smell: Sweet with some orange and other spices noted. Very fragrant and fresh
Tatse: Sweet, a little spicy, some citrus notes - orange & lemon.
Mouthfeel: Balanced and somewhat crisp
Very drinkable. This was a great beer for a warm sunny afternoon at the tiki bar poolside. Wish I could get it around here.

12 oz bottle pours a hazed gold color, dark for a witbier, with a creamy cap of white head. Modest retention and no lace.
Nose is heavy on the coriander with a fair amount of orange as well. Malt base is very soft with the wheat definitely noticeable. Smells good.
Yea, this one's only accepting applications from big fans of coriander. Fluffy wheat base and the coriander give it a sweet feel to it and a hefty body. Drinkability is through the roof, I could easily chug the whole glass in one or two sips. I am surprised at the fairly low scores for this one, I am enjoying the shit out of it. Alaskan has one of the most solid regular lineups of any brewery in the country, in my opinion. Love their beers.

On-tap in Lodi.
A: Pours a clear light yellow color with a thin white head.
S: Perfumey fruity and floral notes. Very sweet smelling.
T: Follows the nose with a sweet and floral flavor. It’s light a citrusy with clean flavors of wheat and spices.
M: Frothy, bubbly and soft carbonation over a medium body and an easy mouthfeel.
O: Enjoyable, sweet but not syrupy or overpowering.

A: Pours a cloudy/hazed golden orange color. A one finger white head forms at first, but recedes to nothing. Light lace.
S: Peppery spice, coriander, husky wheat. Grassy and citrus aromas. Very nice.
T: Follows the nose with lots of peppery spice, yeast, and coriander. Citrus, orange peal, and husky wheat. Everything works together and is very nice.
M/D: A medium body with high carbonation. Crisp and dry. Though a bit on the thin side. Very easy to drink. I have been known to put a few away with ease.
Something I have had on many occasions. A very nice Wit. An easy to drink everyday beer with plenty of character. Something I would recommend.

Pours somewhat cloudy, unlike most witbiers out there. White head thins out quickly.
Nose is the best feature of this beer - ripe orange, maybe orange popsicle too.
Palate has a wheat malt focus up front to midway through, some pleasant fruity flavors, dash of sourness, and disappointing on the finish.

Alaskan Brewing does a good job with this style. Not an easy one to nail down, this beer gets the delicate spices right. Corriander and Curraco orange peel set the stage for a silky and spicy beer. Set atop a firm malt base of wheat and pilsner malts, the yeasty phenols swirl around the peppery corriander and citrusy orange peel notes. At times the spices seem to dominated with a shakey wheat character. Wheat malts seem to give away some body and allow the acidity and minerally character to compromise the mouthfeel. The winter wheat and oat additions common to Belgian varieties don't seem to make the impact here that is needed. Still, a quality beer to enjoy during those hot Alaskan days (wait, what?). Thanks Clvand0!

A: Cloudy golden color with a white head.
S: Lots of orange, orange peel and coriander with a little bit of spice/funk as well.
T: It's a little on the heavy side for a wit. The coriander and orange are definitely there, but it just feels a little too heavy for me.

Showing my Alaskan love here. Always been a fan of their stuff.
A- Straw colored beer with a touch of wit beer haze. You know what I'm talking about here. Lots of activity in the glass itself, the head is very white and settled down quickly.
S- Nice mix of herbs/spices, a bit of an orange peel smell to it, and a touch of saffron perhaps?
T- For a wit beer this tastes complex. Good orange taste pow right to the taste buds up front. Followed by this smooth saffron type taste that is a bit on the sweet side for a finish. There is a grainy earthyness to this beer as well.
M- Light bodied beer that isn't too thin or thick but still on the lighter feeling side. Good carbination too.
D- This one is very easy to drink. I think it is an excellent addition to the lineup of beers Alaskan Brewing is putting out. This would make for a great summer time BBQ session brew.

Thanks to bitterbill for this!
Pours clouded golden with foamy thin white head that becomes patchy. Dotted lacing sticks.
The smell is bready with wheat tang, mild orange peel and mild peppery spicing.
The taste is of orange peel, sugary sweetness witha touch of tart, wheat tang and mild peppery spicing in a crisp finish.
The body is effervescent with a light crisp (but not thin or watery) body.
A nicely balanced thirst-quencher. A enjoyable witbier!

This is the first time I've had this beer, and I am surprised by how dark it is for a white beer. Medium golden blond, with a bit of white foam that dissipates fairly quickly. On the nose I get some Belgian yeast, banana, some wheat and a little peppery spice. Very fruity on the palate, a little lemon, some apricot and maybe pear/apple. Very dissimilar to most whites I've had, but refreshing and flavorful.

The pour was nicely done, albeit very light and a touch overcarbonated for me, I still think it fit rather well. Light yellow in color with tons of carbonation and a huge fizzy white head that let down quickly. Aroma is light banana, clove and citrus, nice and light and airy with touches of lemon zest and fresh spice as it warms. Very clean taste, perfect hints of citrus and spice layered on the banana based malts. Quick, clean, light and very drinkable. This one was gone like a flash.
Overall a very solid little ale and one that I needed to take a break from the rest of the evening!

A - Poured out a pale gold color with a slight haze. It had a one finger, white head of bubbly foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass.
S - It smelled of coriander, lemon zest and some yeastiness. A subtle wheat aroma, too.
T - It tasted of lemony with some coriander, wheat and spiciness.
M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light bodied ale with a dry, clean finish.
O - This is a very nice witbier. Yet another solid offering from Alaskan Brewing.

Alaskan white has a refreshing aftertaste, so it can be drunk alone or with food. It has a nice orange taste which is not overpowering. I would NOT add any more orange slices to this nice smooth witbeer. There is little bitterness overall, so enjoy off your boat catching halibut or salmon runs in the Last Frontier!
Cheers!

Pale yellow, a little clearer than I expected.

A: Pours a rich, bright gold color with a little murk. Decent white head dissipates very quickly and leaves little lace. Few bubbles of carbonation are present.
S: Smell is sweet and fruity and extremely refreshing.
T: Very mild hop bitterness and extremely fruitful. Very clean and crisp. I particularly like this brew served very cold. No malt flavor obvious at all.
M: Mouth feel is medium bodied, clean and crisp.
D: Very drinkable and a good summer beer. A good thirst quencher. A very occasional beer drinker would probably love this beer. On a hot day it could be a great, ice-cold session beer.

Alaskan White has a thick, white head (which doesn’t stick around very long), a clear, bubbly, yellow-golden appearance, with a descending light cloud upon swishing and pouring in the bottom bottle contents, and minimal lacing left behind. The aroma is of white wheat bread and sweet grain husks, and the flavor is of sweet, white wheat bread, a touch of lemon, and subtle coriander. Mouthfeel is medium, and Alaskan White finishes mostly dry, refreshing, and easy drinking. Overall, this is a good beer, and I mostly enjoyed drinking it (once).
