Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a frothy white head that leaves shards of lace

Smell: Hints of floral tangerine waft above a decent amount of malt in the aroma

Taste: Starts out with a nice bready flavor that is joined mid-palate by the tangerine; after the swallow, I pick up an herbal and grassy element that adds complexity to the bitter flavors

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Drinkability: Bordering on the pale ale category this IPA nevertheless has a nice floral citrus element that makes it very easy to consume; damn drinkable, I say

Easy to overlook the Alaskan IPA; I mean when I think of IPA, Alaska doesn't exactly pop into my head. This is really good though. This was poured form a bottle marked best by 6/29/13, so fresh, but not as fresh as you'd like. Nonetheless, nothing blows your mind and nothing is disappointing. It definitely grows on you. You could do better, but you could do much worse. Worth a look if you're interested in trying a new IPA.
