Notes:
Brewed in the style of an English Olde Ale, this ale balances the sweet heady aroma of spruce tips with the clean crisp finish of noble hops. Its malty richness is complemented by the warming sensation of alcohol.

Poured in a pint glass at 47 degrees.
Appearance: The beer is an amber color with an orangish hue. There is a rocky creamy 2 two finger head that is white. The head has some retention. There is a lot of effervescence in the beer. The clarity of the beer is mostly clear with a slight haziness. The head is clinging all over the glass giving away to lace.
Nose: A nice malty aroma with orange fruity esters and cloves. In the background there is a slight floral aroma and a biscuit note.
Taste: A very nice malty beer with orange fruity esters, and spices. There is hops in the background with biscuits, grassy, resin, and floral taste.
Overall: There is a creamy mouth feel that is slightly astringent. There is a slightly bitter finish and lingers on the palate. I felt that beer was more an amber ale with a little more hops. I was hoping for a warming feeling from the beer, but I didn't get any. It has a good malty backbone but it is not very heavy and hoppy. It is a really good beer but not great.

Pours a dullish amber, very small head from a normal pour. Slick lacing and nearly no retention.
Bready, with cinnamon, honey and brown sugar spices, a bit of pine, syrup and noble hops. Sweet and dry.
Bready and grain husks, rather clean with some nuances of simple syrup, cola and maple. Hops keep things clean and dry with a bit of pine and grassy bitterness. Sticky malt but dries rather well. Medium body, average carbonation and well hidden alcohol.
Simple old ale, plenty of spice notes and a grainy malt backbone. Much better than Alaskan's amber as a winter session beer. Not a bad beer, rather middle of the road, interesting to try.
