Set-up is exactly the same as the Anderson's in Dublin. There is about 1/2 as much selection here compared to the one in Dublin though. I didn't really have much experience with the service b/c I didn't ask any questions. Nobody really bothered to speak to me either. They have all the usual suspects that you can find around Columbus and some singles that you may not be able to get elsewhere. They still had some Blackout left which is pretty impressive for this time of year. Still, given my choice I'd go to the one in Dublin and probably stop by Whole Foods too. Worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood.

I visit the Andersons every once in a while to pick up some beer that my local store does not carry. The selection is good for the area, but not great. The store itself is interesting, a love child between Lowe's and a grocery store.

The beer and wine I have purchased has always been in good condition. As with most stores, they are stored upright and warm. I may not chance an old vintage, but most of the young stuff is fine.

Service is friendly. I have never asked questions about the beer, but the people at the checkout have been friendly and many times ask questions about what I am buying (esp when I bought a few cases of Old Stock ale to cellar).

I've went to this store for years without actually realizing the selection of beer that they carry. I was really impressed. The selection is mostly six packs with a few bombers available. Lots of Americans and Germans, but as others have said, very few Belgians. One thing I hate about this store is the discrepancy between beers available in singles and beer only available in six packs (read: most beers are only available in six packs). I didn't have a need to ask for help, so I have no idea what to rate it (thus, a 3.0). Not the best place to get beer in the C-bus area, but if you're around, it'll have a majority of what you're looking for.

Plenty of variety in foreign and domestics. Good pricing and easy checkouts. There are plenty of singles to select from and packs provided. Like other Anderson's, shopping here is mostly a pleasure. Lots of micro-brewed beers in the displays. Good location and parking. Unlike the other Columbus area Anderson's this location does not have quite the selection and some of the singles shelves were in disarray nad blocked by stacks of macro brews. I'll go to Lima or the Sawmill location for Anderson's.

This Anderson's store has less selection than the Sawmill store. For that matter, it has the least selection of all Anderson's I've shopped at, including the Toledo area. That said, it's nothing shabby for a grocery store. There are probably 100-200 beers to choose from, mostly USA and German craft beers. Not too much from Belgium at this location, which is odd considering the wide variety available at other Andersons ouitlets. Prices are average, not too high. If you have the choice, go for the Sawmill location.

Anderson's has a huge beer section with good selection. Big selection of imports in singles, but limited selection of domestics in singles. Lots of domestics in six-packs, though. Majority of beers at room temp. Don't miss the limited cooler space with Great Lakes, Stone, Kalamazoo, Stoudt's and a couple others. Staff is knowledgable and helpful and the beer department seems to be well run. Store is in good condition. The wine and beer section is next to lawn and garden and everytime I think of the place I get this fertilizer smell popping into my head. Definitely a place to check out, though.

A few things have changed since I have last been to this location. Most notably the best change is the expanded selections of larger format bottles and singles. They also have more 6 packs broken up into singles.

The new selections of bombers and 750s is separated from the rest of the beer. It occupies one side of its own long shelf. I was really surprised at some of the beers here. They carry a few Jolly Pumpkin beers, which are only in a few shops around town. I picked up a Biere de Mars, there was also a lot of La Roja. This shelf also held Speedway Stout, Alesmith IPA, lots of Stone, Avery Seventeen and lots of nice Belgians and Trappist stuff.

The rest of the beer is basically how I remember it from about a year ago. It is in the back corner area of the store. One smallish cooler has lots of Bell's, Founder's, DFH; basically Columbus's regular 6-pack stuff. From there the 6-pack shelves seem to keep going and going. Along the back side is where all the imports are. They have an extensive selection of imports.

Other than the newly extended selection of bombers and 750s the rest is pretty average, unless you are looking for stuff from England, Germany, Ireland or Scotland. In which case this is where you need to go.

Anderson's (this one, off of Sawmill) has a stellar reputation, but I hate the heavy traffic in the Sawmill area, so this was my first visit.

When you enter the store, the beer is in the far right corner, FYI.

Their selection was kind of big, but not as impressive as it could have been. Some obvious beers were missing, and it was one of those deals where they were fully stocked on beers that are available everywhere and out of the ones you'd want--an indication of poor management, but it *could have been* beer enthusiasts shopping for Christmas presents for (themselves and) loved ones. For example, they had tons of Bell's but not the good, expensive Bell's, such as Expedition Stout.

I did, however, find some treats: Thirsty Dog Siberian (Rusn stout) and some imperial Rogue offerings that I'd gladly pay less for if they packaged it in a simple glass bottle with a nice label (I hate paying for packaging). The bomber selection was okay, but, like other yuppie stores, way too heavy on the Belgian and English offerings that can be found in any other yuppie beer store (no offense to my financially privileged friends--I love German cars!). Given its context, that it's a giant megastore, Anderson's is doing a bang-up job by being one of the few locations in Columbus that recognizes the market for true beer enthusiasts.

Oh, and if it's your thing, the wine selection is way better than it should be. The selection of French wines, particularly Rhone and white Burgundy, outperformed some of the local (keeping in mind, this is NOT a "real" city) respected small wine shops in town.

This place is GIGANTIC. It's like a Big R, Farm n Fleet, and Walmart all rolled into one.
They have nearly everything you could need that isn't beer... And quite a good selection of beer itself...
The beer department is also pretty supersized-- lots of shelfspace dedicated to craft, tons of singles, and a huge walk-in cooler filled with a majority of BMC beers.

I was specifically looking for Rivertowne Lambic-- I found it in droves... In fact, they had lots of gueuze.
They had 3F Oude Gueuze, 3F Schaarbeekse Kriek, Hannsens Oude gueuze, Hannsens Oude Kriek, Hannsens Experimental Lambics, and even the Hannsens Scarenbecca Kriek.
I was quite pleased with the selection, as they had everything I was hoping to get.

The prices were reasonable or even inexpensive for the bombers and 750s... The 6 packs were average priced... The singles were highly marked up, but I forgive them.

Overall, this place is absolutely worth the trip!

So I was in Columbus visiting family when my step-mother, who knows I like beer, is like you need to go Andersons they have lots of beer. I'm silently thinking give me a break! I live in Chicago, I have access to tons of beers! Being a good soldier I went along and boy was I happy.

The beer selection was awesome. They had everything. They had Bells I haven't seen in Chicago, lots of trappist beers, and tons of 6 packs of great stuff.

The best part was I came across Stone and Alesmith. I was like WTF? You cannot get either in Chicago. I found Stone oak aged arrogant bastartd, ruination ipa, alesmith speedway stout and IPA. Too bad I was only in town for 2 days. What a great selection. I will go nuts there over Chirstmas.
