Notes:
Dubbel is a beer style developed by Belgian Trappists in the Middle Ages, part of a naming convention that also includes the lighter single and stronger trippel. All well and good, you say, but what's this “Nommo” business? Well, the Nommo are ancestral spirits worshipped by the Dogon tribe of the West African nation of Mali. The name is derived from a Dogon word meaning “to make one drink.” No, really. Nommo usually described as amphibious, hermaphroditic, fish-like creatures, were created by the sky god Amma, who caused them to multiply by splitting them into doubled sets of twins. Seeing a trend here? Maybe it's farfetched, but we think the story of the Nommo makes this whole enterprise a little more fun and interesting.

An enjoyable brew from Boulevard. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a two-finger, thick, creamy head; minimal lacing. On the nose, I got hints of spice - cinnamon, coriander, clove; sweet toffee and banana. The taste is extravagant - sweet and malty, a bit peppery with a boozy finish. Feel is medium-bodied; lightly carbonated.
Love Boulevard. This is yet another solid beer. I find that complex beers often go well with complex foods, and this one paired wonderfully with the pumpkin soup and garlic toast. Cheers!

Light brown and orange body with a big head. Cinnamon, herbal, and yeasty. Hits the style. Pleasant as not too sweet, making for drinkability. Medium plus mouthfeel, smooth.Stephen’s bottle. A bit of fruit, but more brown sugar and molasses that simulate maple syrup.

A-Pours a deep amber red color with a massive creamy head. Retention is poor and it dissipates as I drink more and more. Minimal lacing coats the glass. The amber color of the beer is beautiful
S-A bit alcoholic in the nose. Some spice is very prevalent at first, kind of smells like some spiced curry which is very interesting.
T-Very complex. Spiciness is very profound at the start, but the finish is malty layered with a nutty taste on the palate.
MF-Mildly carbonated but has a silky smooth finish once the head is mostly gone.
O-A fantastic dubbel. Very drinkable but does not miss out on any of the flavors. Complex and rich, but the flavors keep the brew interesting which makes you want to drink more and more. Exceptional.
