12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

A: Pours a hazy golden color. A large, foamy white head is formed with three fingers and a soft texture. It fades moderately quickly, and leaves spotty lacing down the glass.

S: There is a decent amount of grapefruit, orange, grass, and lemon notes that betrays a rock-solid hop profile. What I'm not quite so sure about is the faint phenolic touch I also pick up. It sadly detracts from an otherwise very good aroma.

T: The flavor reveals lush citrusy notes throughout, and even an initial grapefruit-esque juiciness. It finishes with light touches of grass and lemon, and the dodgy phenols I picked up in the nose is kept in control here. Really likable if a touch mild.

M: I like how lush and creamy this is, helping to keep carbonation in check - and making it a bit syrupy at times. Aside from me wanting a drier finish, this has a very nice feel and great drinkability.

O: The more I have from Boulevard, the more I grow to like them. When done right, this is a style I really enjoy, and this beer in particular is a success. I'd gladly make this a regular in my fridge.

ok, boulevard, you sneaked this one under my radar. i had tried the unfiltered wheat and thought it was pretty good but plain, so i thought i would give this a shot. this is a great, clean, refreshing summer beer. hands down. the fruity hops are delivered in a light, carbonated, hazy brew that screams summertime. to me. this reminded me of a lighter, snappier version of little sumpin sumpin or gumballhead,,,same general hop profile but significantly lighter with not as much hop aftertaste, the hop burps are also not nearly as concentrated...again, a fine thirst quenching summer offering that i will enjoy often. good job, boulevard!

A - hazy golden yellow, typical wheat beer color.

S: Wonderful smell of hops up front, very pleasing aroma.

T: This beer has a very nice balance between the wheat and hops. You can taste the hops up front and all throughout your sip but the wheat balances everything out and smoothes it over.

M: A little thin but what wheat beer isn't? About what you would excpect.

O: I'm very pleased with this beer. I could drink a ton of these and be a happy man! Perfect for these hot summer days!! They nailed it.

80 acre hoppy wheat pours a hazy yellow color, with a nice large frothy head. There is a dry hoppy aroma. The taste has a nice pale, and wheat like flavors, with hints of hops to finish the taste. Good flavors, refreshing, could use a little more carbonation and was slightly watery. Overall however this is a very nice hoppier wheat style beer.

A: poured into a shaker pint. Forms a nice two finger head that dissipates pretty quickly. This is a nice looking hazy gold. Lacing is minimal but OK for a wheat beer.

S: It has a nice citrus aroma from the hops. Not overpowering but nice for a wheat beer.

T: I tend to like hoppy beers but am enjoying wheat beer now that the heat has hit NC. This one gives you just enough hops to let you know they are there but it doesn't overpower the wheat taste.

M: Medium bodied but very nice for this style.

O: This one hits all of my buttons for a summer brew. Easy drinking, fairly low ABV, and looks great in the glass.

Poured into a pint glass. A hazy pale straw color with a thick, dense white head that remains until the finish. A tangerine and grassy hop aroma. It has a nice wheat flavor with citrus and grassy hop notes. Finishes very smooth with a bit of tartness and a lingering grassy hop flavor. A great light summer beer.

Hazy golden colored body; a poofy, lumpy head sits atop leaving behind some thick lacing. Aromas are initially floral hops before turning super juicy and bright. Freshly squeezed OJ, lemon, and other citrus surrounding a subtle biscuity wheat note. Pleasant, gentle hop flavors, lemon tea, wheat, mellow citrus juice, and a floral sweetness. Drying in the finish, fluffy, light, and crisp. I had one while grilling and I imagine that's a perfect situation for drinking this beer.

Bottle BB 8/8/13.

A: Hazy gold, good retaining three finger head. Great lace.

S: Big sweet citrus punch, oranges, tangerine, malted wheat twang in the back.

T: A bit subdued compared to the flavor, tropical fruit punch kick, lemons, grapefruit etc. with you're standard a herbal, wheaty twang. Slightly grassy on the finish.

M: Feels light to medium, smooth, actually very smooth. Drinks real easy.

O: Summer beer for sure. Wheats aren't my favorite style, but this does a nice combo of an IPA and a wheat. Nose was the star of the show however. Would make a great warm weather brew fur shur.

A - bright yellow with a huge, dense, thick, pure white head that has great retention

S - huge orange peel aroma

T - wheat, huge orange peel and citrus, mild herbal bitterness in the finish

M - light to medium bodied, smooth, well carbonated

This is a nice wheat beer and it is indeed hoppy, but the I prefer a bit of bitterness from my hops. This was about as much citrus as you could possibly get out hops. In the end it wasn't bad, but for something claiming to be "a hoppy wheat beer", I'm expecting a bit more.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Color is a pale straw yellow with a hint of hazy amber; light 1.5 finger head that left minimal lacing. Scent is mostly fruity - bananas, apples, and even a hint of sweet peaches; also has a unique soda-bread scent, likely due to the wheat and earthy, bitter hops. Taste was spot on with the description - a hoppy, wheat beer; both styles of beer lend their citrus-forward attributes; orange peel from the wit and tart grapefruit from the ipa side. Mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing; perfect to enjoy while outside on a warm day; went well with grilled chicken, cheesy couscous, and sautéed green beans.

Overall, highly recommend to anyone. Terrific combo of sweet and bitter. Great for someone who is on the fence about hop-centric beers. Cheers!

Pours a three finger white head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Pale, almost clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and light-medium bodied. Strong nose of pine hops, flavor is a balance of pine hops and caramel malt. Decent wheat. $2.19 for a 12oz bottle from Julio's Liquors Westborough, MA.

Poured from the bottle into a wheat ale glass.

A real nice glowing lemon yellow, opaque with great hues of clear green towards the bottom. Head billows a real super shampoo white, with big retention and huge clumping lacing. Lots of stuck chunks, minimal rising carbonation, but one real nice looking beer.

Nose is subtle and a bit small. Mild floral sense of hop, light faint grass. A little bit of burnt phenol plastic quality though.

Palate hits with a little bit of wetness, not much of a chewy what like density. Slightly grainy finish, but there's a nice sense of crisp hop feel here on the swallow. Clean, a little hint of density. Muted lemon and citrus, but also with a bit of flat soda tasting quality.

Overall not bad, but not seeing where this hoppy angle is suppose to come in. Decent brew, but I think I prefer the regular wheat than this.

a. straw with a touch of orange. not completly clear. a big, rocky white head that settles to a respectable layer of little bubbles and leave nice splotches of lacing on the glass.

s. cereal grains, oranges, and lemons.

t: a little sweet at first, turning into a grass and husk flavor, a bit of wheat twang leading into sweet orange/lemon and a touch of bitterness from the hops.

m. nothing too great here, medium body and level of carbonation.

o. a pretty nice mix of wheat and hops here. would drink this regularly given it was available in my area and decently priced. the only change i would like would to be to tone down the sweetness a touch. a big thumbs up to the wife for picking this out of the blue for me on a trip to missouri based on the fact she knows i like wheat beers and ipas/hops.

Bottle poured into a pilsener glass

Poured a nice 4 finger white foam head which settled into a delightful white foam cap with healthy lacings on the side of the glass

Fresh clean aroma of hops, citrusy lemon and orang rind. Hazy golden yellow. Opaque with the faintest of carbonation.

Wheat with hops , lemony , clean fresh and nice after taste. Light mouthfeel.

This would be a great beer on a hot summer day. Clean and delicious even in the winter! Really nice beer that I will definitely enjoy again.

Pours a bright, opaque yellow with spotty lacing and average retention.

Smell is fruity, a little sour and some bitter hops.

Tangy, crisp with some fruit a then ends with a subtle bitterness.

A: Cloudy, light pastel yellow. Forms between a 1/4" and 1/2" of white head. Excellent retention. Moderate lacing.

S: Very hop forward. Orange, orange rind, and a bit of lemon. Lots of citrus and rather juicy.

T: Taste is similar with a slight wheat twist. Rather hop forward with lots of citrus juiciness. Predominantly sweet orange with a little bit of lemonade in the mix.

M: Lighter bodied. Medium carbonation. Very light bitterness.

O: This is exactly the type of beer I should love: a light malt base with an exceedingly hop forward character. But I don't love this beer in the least. There is something about the juicy, citrus hops sit on that light wheat base that just doesn't sit right with me.

sometimes I feel like I am too easy on beers, or like the .25 increments has made me a softer critic, because honestly, when you want a cold beer and the mellow factor, anything even half craft satisfies. if you disagree, you aren't a beer person. sorry, but that's a fact. this beer is that conundrum. its a mix of styles, wheaty and hoppy, fully American, but a little defunct in some way. the looks is hazy and pale yellow, like any standard wheat based unfiltered brew. but the nose is real hoppy for the color. bitter and west coast, like an American wheat meets an American pale meets dry hopping. not sure this is all of that, but it feels like it could be. I taste some fruity lighter yeast, delicate but raw wheat malt, and a fairly aggressive hoppy profile that year round boulevard concoction so curious. its got some pineapple notes too, which I find fitting. lighter in body but fulfilling texturally. well carbonated and clean but long in the finish, as contradictory as that seems. this is a beer that asks more questions than it answers, but I like it a lot, especially at this price point. boulevard is on a hot streak in my book, cant wait to try the wheat wine!

Poured into a Sam Adams perfect Pint Glass

Appearance: high carbonation, bright yellow-gold in color, one inch head, hazy

Smell: wheat and citrus hops

Taste: wheaty, grass, and citrusy hops that are especially present at the end

Mouthfeel: crisp, light bodied, high carbonation, sweetish start with bitterness coming in the middle and a bit more prominent towards the end.

Overall: Super clean. For the style, this is one of my favorites. A perfect summer beer that I could have several of. Nice pilsner like taste with a touch of pleasant bitterness that is never too bitter. One of Boulevards better small beers that I have had the pleasure of trying.

A- Pours a hazy golden color with a thin white head on top. Pretty average for this style.

S- Citrus Hops!!!! Get a nice wheat smell after that, but you got to love the smell of those hops.

T- This is more hoped than alot of APA's I have tried. Citrusy and grassy hops. Get a little orange flavor and of course that indistinguishable wheat taste.

M- Goes down oh so smooth. Just the right carbonation and just the right stick to your mouth feeling that good wheat beers have.

Overall a great beer. If only this was available on tap to get an even fresher taste!

Pours a beautiful hazy gold liquid with a generous white head.

Aroma is a mix of hops and citrus.

Flavor is hard to take in. The two dominant flavor notes (the hoppyness and the citrusy-wheat beeryness) to me are not team players. Both are so dominant that it feels like it would have been better for this beer to slightly tone down one of these notes, maybe by making this a Wheat Pale Ale rather than a what IPA. I also wonder how this beer might be with a little aging to round out the hops?

Mouthfeel is nice and full with a little bit of pricklyness.

Overall, this is an interesting beer. A nice change of pace but probably not one I would seek out on a regular basis.

Picked up a 12 oz bottle to try from Gravity Beer Market in Olympia, WA on 26 Jan 13. Poured into a pint glass.

A: Hazy straw/gold color with a finger and a half of head that retains very well.

S: Citrus hop aromas, distinctly wheat, grainy, and bready malts.

T: Some citrus hop flavors, lemon zest, and wheat. Floral and earthy notes very much present as well. Finishes smooth.

M: Crisp and refreshing. Lighter body and medium-high carbonation.

O: Well-done execute of part citrusy APA and a straight wheat beer. I'm sure this would be a great lawnmower beer.

Picked up a single beer to sample, not thinking it would be a great beer. But Boulevard is an impressive brewery.
Pours a golden amber with a sediment look throughout. The really big white frothy head takes its time settling down. Nice lacing left on the sides.
The aroma is a combination of hops and wheat but smells like a big IPA.
The first taste hits me with less IPA quality than I expected from the aroma, more mild hops and citrus overtones. The wheat seems to mellow out any bitterness and leaves a long mild finish. My second sip gave me a little more depth into the beer and I pick up some additional fruit qualities and maybe some grassiness.
Mild hops, bitter/sweet wheat quality is my best description of this beer. Overall it has a solid mild quality with no dominating tastes. Good and balanced. This was a pretty impressive beer I will seek out.

A - Hazy yellow with a nice big white cap. Decent lace on the glass.

S - Sharply hoppy and slightly metallic. Herbal green hop notes.

T - The hops are almost pilsener-esque and quite green-grassy. This really lacks the malty backbone that most hoppy beers have, and that leaves the hops hanging out there in thin air with no support. This results in a sharp and overly bitter flavor IMO.

M - Light bodied and very carbonated. Long lasting grassy finish.

This is not bad, but just seems weird to me. I love that Boulevard (one of my favorite brewers by the way) tried something different, but I think that there is a reason that wheat beers are traditionally not very hoppy.

Hazy straw golden in appearance, with a rich, frothy head of white suds. Lovely lace, too.

Aroma is pleasantly citrus-hoppy.

Taste is smooth, again with citrus hops dominating, but not in an overpowering way. 80-Acre displays a superb amount of balance between the hops and wheat-grain sharpness.

A delightful, easy-drinking session ale that is my new "go-to" Boulevard beer. Bravo, as this is one I'll gladly return to!
