Notes:
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard we have fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were experimenting with variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a big surge of fruity aromatics and grapefruit-hoppy notes, the flavor of this complex, straw-colored ale tapers off to a peppery, dry finish.

Bottle, best before 2/24/2012 printed on the neck.

Golden yellow in appearance, slightly cloudy with a pillow of white head that sticks around for the whole session, just like any worthy drinking buddy. Lacing is here and there, spotty.

Mild barnyard funk from the yeast, herbal, lemon peel, white pepper are on the nose. There might be more, but that's what I'm really picking up.

There is more grass on this Saison than most others I've had to date. That combines rather agreeably with the yeast phenols and citric elements, met by a moderate alcohol kick in the finish.

Crisp, Champagne dry finish, abundant carbonation that tickles the tongue and medium bodied. Near perfection, but the alcohol burn is a bit to prevalent.

Solid offering, not my favorite Saison I've ever had, but this one has a lot going for it, Cheers!

my brain is confused . . . this is, by far, the lightest colored beer i've had in a long, long time. light golden yellow wheat color, looks like a bmc lite. head builds fast, but, then, surprise, it hangs around a while, and there's some nice lacing going on as it dies down to a thin layer that hangs around. nose is super clean, soft citrus, hint of lemon and grass. flavor is quite clean, light, almost airy compared to my usual fare. can't pair it with my go-to snacks, they kill the drink. 8.5 abv is as if it isn't there.

very impressed that someone made something so light, yet so good. nice job!

750ml corked bottle

Pours a very light yellow color with a massive head that dissipates quickly

massive citus/grapefruit smell on the noise. reminds me of a typical farmhouse but with a big big nose. taste is EXCEPTIONAL for a farmhouse...granted this isnt my favorite style but this is the almost perfect beer in rating in style. citrus, lemon, grapefruit... with a dry aftertaste. very drinkable and enjoyable. amazed that this is 8.5%.

overall an exceptional farmhouse brew.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a thick foamy head.

The smell is musty and earthy with some fruity aromatics and breadiness poking through.

The taste follows the smell but with more lemon zest. Absolutely delicious - the perfect amount of breadiness and must as well.

This beer is extremely effervescent - as it should be.

A great American rendition of a Saison. Scarily drinkable for 8.5% ABV.
