Notes:
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard we have fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were experimenting with variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a big surge of fruity aromatics and grapefruit-hoppy notes, the flavor of this complex, straw-colored ale tapers off to a peppery, dry finish.

750 ml bottle with 'best by' date of 12/10.
A: Very thick white head about 1 1/2 inches thick sits atop yellow - yellow/orange body. Head hangs around for a long time.
S: I'm not getting the citrus that everyone else seems to be reporting but rather the saison yeast is prominent along with banana and lemon.
T: This is by far the bitterest saison that I've had. The yeast, banana and lemon are there but they're hiding behind the lingering hop bitterness.
M: It's pretty thick for a saison yet the crispness is very nice.
D: ABV seems a little high for a saison (I'm feeling a bit light-headed) but the crispness and thickness is very nice. Not my favorite but good nonetheless. I'm hoping the bottle of Saison Brett (of which Tank 7 is the base beer) is better than this.

A-Pale orange color. Effervescent bubble flow towards the top. A towering, 3 finger white head that retains very well.
S-Oranges, peppery spice, aged cheese, wheat bread.
T-Aged cheese takes over at the front as it fades nicely to a peppered boozy finish with a lingering semi-sweet bready malt taste. Quite nice.
MF-Carbonated and fizzy on the palate, but finishes smooth and a bit chewy
O-An exceptional brew. My favorite saison so far.

A - Bright yellow, cloudy, thick white head has good retention and lacing.
S/T/M - Light tropical fruit hops on the nose, with an earthy yeast body. Yeast funk is there, but not too strong. Hay, grass, and some herbalness add complexity and balance. The myriad of subtle flavors blends well with the light body and high carbonation. Voluminous creaminess to the feel, finishes bone dry.
O - Very enjoyable melding of a diverse range and number of flavors. Paired with the light feel, this is one impressive saison.
