Pours a slightly hazy pale with very little head. I'm willing to forgive the lack of head because it came out if a growler and it might have had a bad seal. There is an incredible amount of hoppiness to th ebeer which I enjoy, especially at a lower abv for the style. As someone who likes to drink in quantity occassionally, I appreciate an IPA that isn't 7% or more.

Dated best by 8/10/13; poured into a tulip. Single-Wide is a stellar looking brew, hazy and gold with some noticeable, unfiltered goodness. Thick, creamy, cloud-like head with tons of lacing! Smells delicious once you open the bottle, but that seems to vanish as you drink from the glass. The taste and mouthfeel are really good, but not in the class of many other IPA's. Overall, very good and worth a try, especially for the price.

12 oz bottle dated BB 19 July 2013 served in a lager glass.
This bottle conditioned IPA pours with a towering, foamy/creamy, off-white head over a clear golden body with plenty of visible carbonation.

The aroma is the only weak point of this beer, with a marginally pleasant mix of yeast, light malts and earthy/floral/herbal hops. The more intense flavor has a different balance, being more hoppy and less yeasty, and seems more complex. The use of 6 varieties of hops is more apparent here, with fruity, floral, earthy, herbal and spicy elements. Nonethelss, this is not a strongly hopped, highly bitter, or challenging ale. Has the ease of drinkability of a pale ale.

Exceptionally smooth and creamy mouthfeel for an IPA.

This beer pours up a beautiful hazy gold with a nice fluffy two finger head, great retention, and world class lacing. The smell is a very fresh citrus aroma, quite nice. Taste is nice as well. There is the expected maltiness along with the citrus/grapefruitiness. The finish is dry and yeasty and sort of out of sync with the rest of it. Mouthfeel is a lingering yeasty taste. A good offering overall. I'll be glad to drink a few more of these.

12 oz. bottle, with a best by date of 07/19/2013. Acquired as part of the Boulevard twelve pack sampler. My second year-round offering from the variety pack.

Poured into a Firestone Walker pint glass.

A - Pours one finger of doughy white froth for a head on top of a nice luscious lemon orange colored body. Beautiful sediment floating around in the glass. Extremely thin scattered lacing.

S - Smell is bright, fruity, and hoppy. Grapefruit rind, lemon, mango, blood orange. Some bready malt characteristics. An underwhelming nose considering how great some IPA's smell.

T - Taste follows the nose, highly tropical, citric, and fruity, paired well against the malt profile. Crisp, bitter, light to medium bodied.

M - Feel is of lingering hop bitterness, sticky fruit sugars, & a dry finish.

Overall, another fairly standard offering from Boulevard, but this is definitely an IPA done right. A simple beer, but definitely hits it's mark. A beer I would try again, and recommended for the IPA fanatic.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass

A: Agressive pour yields large, airy, bubbly head that settles quickly to light but large frothy head, beer is hazy, light gold with hints of pale orange

S: Smells sweet, most of the aroma that comes through is bread, hops a light grassy and floral

T: Taste is very pleasant but not that bitter at all, hops are again mostly floral

M: Lighter carb, pleasant dryness in the finish

O: A very nice beer, more of a pale ale though in my opinion, maybe I'm just so accustomed to strong pale ales and IPAs, but it needs a little more umph

A - Pours a brilliant golden honey that has a slight haze. Also, has one finger fluffy white head with good retention and lacing

S - Aromas of grapefruit and pine with some caramel sweetness in the back

T - Not an overpowering IPA. Upfront taste is mainly pine with a slight citrus twist. Just like the smell it is followed by the caramel malts and slight sweetness

M - A light bodied IPA that is very smooth.

O - Very easy drinking with good flavor. You could almost call it a sessionable beer. Its a solid beer that I'd pick up again especially to support a Missouri brewery.

A: Pours a darker golden color w/ a nice head.

S: Strong citrus smell. Hints of grapefruit and peach form sweet aroma. With a light undertone of piney hops.

T: Immediately, you take in the citrus on to the pallet. That is shortly followed by a infusion of piney hops. Finally, you are left with 59 IBUs of bitterness.

M: The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a fair amount of carbonation that provides a slightly more intense experience for your pallet.

Overall: Nice balance of citrus and pine hops, a little too carbonated for my pallet, but overall a nice AIPA.

A: hazy copper/orange body with a two finger white foamy that rises to leave a lumpy head and then falls to leave a film on top of the body

S: subdued hops through some piney tones, light peach and malts come out as the beer warms

T: sweet and smooth through the previously mentioned flavors

M: light, sessionable, carbonation seems a bit under

O: I`d say mostly good for the style though it did seem a bit under-carbonated, I`d probably still have it again

A- pours a bright golden color with a huge white frothy-pillowy head with great retention and lacing.

S- faint citrus hop with some fruity cereal grain, not a whole lot going on

T- cirtus hops follow the aroma with a good malt balance, I'm picking up a distinct guava flavor on the finish, dry and a bit malty on the end

M- medium body and carbonation with a smooth and creamy mouthfeel, crisp finish

O- not the hoppiest IPA, but a nice tropical flavor makes this one an easy drinking brew.

Poured into a shaker pint glass.

The beer is a hazy muted peach-amber color. A frothy foamy white head has great retention and sheets of sticky lacing coat the glass. The nose is sweet apricot, muted caramel malt, and piny hops. The taste is a good shadow of the aroma with sweet malts coming before a nice blend of black pepper, apricot fruitiness, and piny grapefruit rinds. A nice medium and creamy mouthfeel. Overall, just a delicious well-balanced beer. My favorite from boulevard.

A- Hazy, golden copper massive head decent lacing.

S- Melon, citrus fruits and rinds.

T- Citrus hops, sharp, bitter, yeasty and slight wheat twang.

M- medium to light with great velvety carbonation. Typical of boulevard beers.

O- Slightly above average IPA that always seems to find its way into my fridge (available at gas stations in KC!!). And why does Boulevard always use wheat in their beers???....I love Boulevard beers especially their smoke stack series but the use of wheat in nearly all their beers is getting old. Just like that weird biscuit flavor in all New Belgium beers.

A - Golden copper, with 2 fingers of head that foamed out of the bottle as soon as I opened it! Tons of lacing. Impressive.

S - Mixture of citrus and bitterness, and some grains.

T - A well balanced brew, equal amounts hoppy and malt backbone. Very drinkable..
Biscuity, bitter aftertaste...

M - Well carbonated, crisp.

O - A very drinkable IPA. But not one to seek out in the future. A little disappointing as everything else I have had from this brewery has been beyond good...

A-Pours a hazy, pale golden color with an insanely thick white head. Nice retention throughout with minimal lacing. The color of the beer was unimpressive.

S-Freshly baked bread. The yeast is pronounced well in the nose. Citrusy hops in the back of the nose, but the yeast overpowers that.

T-Semi-bitter citrus fruits balanced well with yeast and a semi-malty finish.

MF-Carbonated and a touch too fizzy, but it's refreshing

O-A very good IPA. Not the best, but complex and refreshing. Boulevard makes fantastic brews.

12oz bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a very slightly hazy light gold with a rocky one finger white head. Really good head retention and chunks of lacing clinging to the sides of the glass.

Aroma has a very lemony and herbal quality with a little bit of orange, peach, and grapefruit thrown in. Maybe a touch of ginger. There is a very light citrusy quality overall to the hops. Really no malt is evident in the aroma.

The flavor continues the lemon/herbal characteristics. There is quite a bit of grass present as well similar to what you would find in a german pils but it compliments the citrus flavor quite nicely. There is a little bit of caramel from the malt along with some lighter bread that again reminds me of a pilsner. Moderate bitterness and a moderately sticky finish.

Overall, this is a very refreshing beer that has quite a bit of flavor and the hop profile is fairly unique; it is not like other IPA's I have had. A pleasant, easy drinking beer that would be one to keep in the fridge.

A- Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Speiglau IPA glass. Pours a cloudy dark straw color. Huge 3 finger head that is off white. Fair amount of retention. Be careful when pouring Boulevard beers. Always seem to overflow in my experience.

S- Floral and citrus hops are the big leaders of the nose with this one. Grapefruit, lemon zest, fruity. Yeast aroma as well. Not a complex hop profile, but a strong one none the less. Not detecting much malt backbone. Certainly lets you know you have an ipa on your hands.

T- Big floral and citrus flavors here as well. Intense floral hop presence, but not overly bitter. Wet tasting from the hop oil. Hops eventually give way to a subtle pale malt presence. Touch of caramel makes its way. Warm, alcohol finish was surprising from the low ABV. As usual with what seems to be all Boulevard beers, the wheat flavor makes an appearance. Also detecting some yeast notes. I prefer a little more earthy hop notes with my IPAs, but this was still a very nice tasting beer. I like whats going on here.

M- Smooth, drinkable. Light to mid body. Slightly wet and oily. Over-carbonation was the biggest problem here. It was hard to look past.

O- A really nice brew. Not a spectacular one that I would insist everyone must try, but nice. Not real complex, but decent balance, robust floral and citrus hops, and good drinkability to put a few of these away if your are in an establishment with few good craft brew options.

Poured into a Sam Adams perfect Pint Glass

Appearance: high carbonation, orange-gold in color, 3/4 inch head, clear

Smell: citrus hops--oranges and lemons

Taste: citrus--tangerine orange, grapefruit with some pine hops and caramel

Mouthfeel: light bodied, high carbonation, bitter with some sweetness in the middle and a more bitter/dry end--bitter but never mouth puckeringly so

Overall: Bitter and clean. This would be an IPA that I would reach for if I wanted an IPA. A nice sipper.

A- Pours a honey color with a large white head that is very lumpy. Pretty beer.

S- Citrus, pine, and earthy hops. Not much else present.

T- Grapefruit hops and pine hops with a malt backbone. Not super biter and the taste does not linger.

M- A little thin, but good carbonation level. Easy drinker for an IPA

Overall a great sessionable IPA. Could easily drink this all day

S: fruity bubblegum hop smells, citrus, orange, lemon, berries, grassy grains

T: I'm trying to find all of those wonderful smells in the flavor...but alas, mostly grapefruit, some pine flavors, decent malt backbone providing some sweetness, bitter finish

M: thinner with a lot of carbonation, good aftertaste

O: this beer smells fantastic, but the other characteristics didn't live up as well, not bad by any means, the other aspects just were not as special as the nose on this brew

Enjoyed this 12oz bottle out of a Belgian tulip glass.

A: Pours a solid orange hue with a fizzy, huge, white head that slowly dissipated down the side of the glass leaving a good trail and ending a solid lace.

S: Nice hoppy aroma with some citrus notes.

T: Bitter brew with a good hop makeup and with some mild citrus and pine notes.

M: Medium body and medium carbonation.

O: Excellent IPA - well balanced and easy drinker.

A - golden orange with a huge, pillowy, soft, white head that has great retention

S - citrusy, herbal, spicy, peppery

T - light bread malt, a mellow hop character that is herbal, spicy, citrusy, and bitter

M - light bodied, well carbonated

This is an OK IPA. The flavor is nice but subdued. If the hops where more bright and forward this would probably be excellent. The mouthfeel is a bit light as well. It's thin at times. Overall, this is an easy to drink beer with decent flavor, but there are far bolder IPAs out there.

Poured from the bottle into a Dogfish Ale house glass.

A faint apricot amber, with hints of orange color, quite a bit hazy and a little dull. Head forms real nice and evenly with light tan color, almost white, and easily four fingers deep. Clumps with big aggressive chunks and lacing. Not too bad.

Nose is store brought grapefruit juice hop angle. Quite wet smelling, with a light airy sense. Not sweet or big, but pretty solid fruit hop feeling. A little bit of toasty bread and grains kick in also.

Palate hits with quite a bit of wet body. Mid palate doesn't bring much flavor, however on the swallow is where all the notes hit. Instant peeled grapefruit and skin, with a little bit of minor caramel sensations. Quite a big front tip tongue little tiny fizz sting. Palate though is really fleeting, with all the senses hitting in the back. Wet body doesn't quite let it carry much.

Overall it's very light and drinkable, but this just doesn't remind me of the good stuff that Boulevard does, this is one of their weaker creations I think.

A friend brought this back for me from Texas. Thanks Dylan! Best by date of 6/2/13. Poured into a Heady Topper pint. Shared with schen9303.

Pours a frothy, 3 finger white head with moderate retention. Beer is a clear goldenrod. Lacing is spotty and thick with good stick. Solid.

Nose is sweet citrus, cane sugar, and a slight sap hop bitterness. Aromatic but oddly and unusually sweet.

Opens sap resin hoppiness. Slightly citrus tart towards the middle with some corn sweetness at the finish and an odd cane sugar sweet and bitter aftertaste. Not my style and a bit odd for the style honestly.

Light bodied with ample carbonation. Prickly and lively in the mouth and dry and quenching going down. Finishes messy with a lingering, sticky aftertaste. Solid.

An average beer overall but in a style where there are a lot of standouts, this just doesn't cut it. The adjunct-y corn sweetness in the nose and flavor don't help things. Not bad but I'll pass the next time I encounter this one.

A - Pours a slightly hazy golden hue, with a large 3-finger off-white head, which retains itself quite well. Lacing is on the creamy side.

S - Smell is of many citrus fruits - lemon, orange, grapefruit, and hints of mango, with a touch of pine.

T - Taste is of a bready toffee malt profile, with lots of citrus flavors (mostly grapefruit and lemon), with a mild, piney hop bite to it. Finishes dry and clean.

M - Medium body. Carbonation is slightly on the side IMO, yet it has somewhat of a creaminess to it going down.

O - Overall, it's a middle-of the road IPA IMHO, despite some other, excellent offerings from this brewery. Given the low price of this one though, it's worth a try for the die-hard IPA fans.

12 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a nonical pint glass in me gaff in high altitude Castle Rock, Colorado. Reviewed live. Expectations are above average given the brewery. No visible best before or bottled on date.

Served straight from the fridge. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

Paired with pretzels.

A: Pours a five finger head of little (if any cream), poor thickness, and great retention - though it does seem overcarbonated. No lacing. Body colour is a clear copper. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show. Translucent. Fairly vibrant. Typical of the style.

Sm: Floral hops, hints of citrus, clean malts, wheat, and soap. Some zest. An average strength aroma. Pleasant.

T: Floral hops, clean malts, hop bitterness, vague citrus, and grapefruit. Imbalanced and badly built for the style. Rather mediocre. Lacks complexity and subtlety.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Carbonation is about right. A bit thin.

Dr: Drinkable but pedestrian. A disappointment from Boulevard. I wouldn't trifle with this again. A mundane IPA.
