Notes:
Nutcracker Ale is Boulevard’s holiday gift for real beer lovers. This hearty, warming brew is a classic winter ale, deep amber in color, with hints of molasses balanced by the “spiciness” of freshly harvested Chinook hops.

Nutcracker Ale pours a brownish-orange and is transluscent almost opaque. Its head is off white, fluffy, with great retention.
The smell is pretty light, but I can pick up some fruit zest and roasted notes with a little bit of typical hops and malt characteristics.
Its taste out does the smell in both complexity and power. The beer begins with a well balanced hop flavor, followed by gum and cinnamon among other spices on the mid palate. The finish is long and leaves mostly a fruity taste with just enough hops to make it well balanced.
The mouthfeel is thick with well balanced carbonation.
In general winter warmers are not my style of beer. Although, I found Nutcraker Ale to be one of the best I have had. It is the complete opposite of most winter warmers you see, like the style link says on this site many beers with a bunch of spices like a wassail may say winter warmer. This is the first beer I have ever tried from Boulevard, but it makes me want to try more.

P: A brown/ruby red effervescent body with lush tan micro bubble head.
S: Holiday spices, soapy hops, molasses and rich roasted syrupy malt. Spiced rum and dark fruits followed by a bready base.
T/M: Roasted caramel malts, sweet cherries, prunes, dates and a bitter floral and pine profile with a touch of citrus. Nutty with holiday spices that bring a warming holiday sensation to the palate. Heavy doses of malt but a nice hop bitterness to round it out. Body is medium-full and sticky with a gentle sting of carbonation. Finishes dry with lingering caramel and nuts.
O: A great holiday warmer that really packs a flavorful punch. The alcohol is present but does kill the palate. Can't wait to go back to Oklahoma were I can drink this yearly. Cheers!
