Notes:
Irish Ale, Boulevard’s early spring seasonal beer, is our Midwestern tribute to the legendary red ales of old Ireland. Our recipe combines six kinds of pale and roasted barley malts to provide a rich, toasty flavor and tawny reddish hue.

12 oz. bottle, with bottle reading best by 05/01/2013, so I'm a little bit late on this one, but that worries me not. Acquired as part of the Boulevard twelve pack sampler for $9.99 at the local beer store.
Poured into a Firestone Walker pint glass.
A - Semi-aggressive pour yields one finger of slightly tan off-white head that dies out quickly. Body is an orange / ruby / copper hybrid like color with some very fine sediment floating around, probably from the yeast. Looks pretty nice.
S - Sweet caramelized malt smell, dark candied fruit akin to raisin and fig / dates & some licorice. Sweet tea leaf like hop presence is in there somewhere as well, almost an African red tea type smell going on, & some dark spicy earthiness.
T - Taste is bitter with hops, sweet and well-balanced with the malted barley and wheat presence, crisp medium body with nice carbonation.
M - Feel is crisp & medium bodied, with some nice lingering hop bitterness & malt sweetness.
Overall, a nicely balanced beer, one of the better offerings out of the Boulevard sampler twelve pack. I wasn't very familiar with some of the more generic offerings from Boulevard, but the Boulevard Irish Ale is definitely one that stands above some of the others. A beer I would happily try again.
Boulevard Irish Ale ---4/5.

A-Translucent ruby amber, two finger off white head with some carbonation.
S-Lots of caramel, molasses, earthy notes, grass and dirt.
T-Rather malty, lots of malt actually. Caramel, dirt and other earthy notes. Some roasted malt burnt notes.
M-Lighter, carbonated, smooth but a tad too lite.
O-A decent Irish Red. Usually not a fan of the style but this one was decent.
