Poured two fingers of very foamy head which took its time calming down. Nice opaque amber body color, seems to be a lot of suspended solids in it. Very little lacing.
First impression of smell is malty and earthy. Second sniff reveals a wealth of yeast, banana, clove and a hint of caramel.
Wheat, yeast, banana and bitter apple all greet the tongue. Light malt tones begin to fade in with more sips and some spice and cloves take their places at the end with banana notes.
Medium bodied. Carbonation bites slightly. Slides easily over the tongue and finishes dry.

A - a light orange with some auburn notes; pale white head with reasonably good retention. A pretty brew, though a bit lighter than I had expected.
S - hoppy on the nose with an undertone of faint spices; a little bit of booze lingers after the initial smell.
T - orange and lemon zest with a tinge of light, floral hops; spice lingers in the aftertaste. The flavors are a bit subdued -- much more so than I expected from an Ommegang.
M - Decent carbonation, but it felt a little one dimensional.
O - this is a decent brew, but it is neither an outstanding Ommegang nor an outstanding amber. It is still worth the try, though. Reasonably priced and mildly flavored. Good for a hot, long day.

Appearance: Orangish-bronze; cloudy; big frothy head dissipates quickly, but held ok due to tulip glass
Aroma: Belgian yeast with candy; spices; and pepper; apricot
Taste: Tart apricot up front with classic Belgian Ale yeast; spice and pepper in the mid; finishes semi sweet; overall thin mouthful, but well balanced; better as it warms
Remarks: Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

This beer pours a reddish amber with a little haze and smells mildly fruity, orange with hints of spice. It’s creamy with a big head, but almost no retention. Good lacing and the taste is smooth . Again Ommegang has the made the perfect dubbel in that you can taste no alcohol except a touch in the finish. Little pepper on the nose and it’s a little on the thin side. Sweet yeasty malty, soft on the carbonation with a slightly sticky, dry finish. Although the hops are not up front on the palate they balance nicely with the malt and this beer is very delicious without tasting too heavy. Ommegang never fails to delight and this is a superb and contemporary Belgian Pale Ale.
