750 ml bottle poured into a small snifter. Thanks Will...Small, beige head, low retention on a clear, dark copper body. Minimal, clear lacing. Aroma includes tart green apple, a deep earthy must, maybe some overripe cherries and some caramel. Taste is puckeringly tart, dominated by old, rotting (in a good way) Granny Smith apples and some caramel malt. Really satisfyingly sour and quite delicious.

Best by 07/04/12. Served in tulips.
Pours a decently clear red-brown (I succeeded in decanting a lot of the gunk from the yeast cake, which looks pretty compacted). Head had about an inch to inch-and-a-half in height before resting to a thin cap. Foam was taupe in color.
Mild acetic nose with tart cherries in the forefront. Vinous grape notes, plus blackberry, prune, and tobacco. I'm already stoked to revisit this beer.
First sip brings me right back to the first time I tried this Flemish sour. Tart cherry, cranberry, plum, and more of the leather and tobacco that I picked up in the nose. A big gulp really accents that essential balsamic quality that I love. Notes of mild oak and some tinniness from the malts use bitterness to balance the vinegary notes. Fruity, sour, and gently woody. A great oud bruin.
Good feel in that it's wet and juicy, yet there's still some lovely mouth-drying tartness. Carbonation is pretty low, but the body has great weight.
Definitely one of my favorites of the style. Didn't see this appear on shelves last year, for whatever reason, and I missed it. Glad I found this bottle.

First release, 2010
Pours a lovely cola with some cherry hues, some soapy tan bubbles hedging an etched surface. Smells of lactic, acetic souring with a spicy malt background and some sour cherry character. A bit of wood in the nose as well. Flavor is slightly sweet, tart and malty. A bit of a bicarbonate flavor initially, then some balsamic, cherry, bread, some almost nutty flavors. A complex flavor profile, but I don't know if I like it.... Medium bodied with a little higher carb than I'd like with a nice disappearing finish. The feel is refreshing. This beer is better than it was two years ago, but not anything I'd spend the asking price for (~$13 IIRC)

750mL into a tulip. Pours a murky mahogany brown w/ a 1-finger beige head that settles to a thin film, sustained by moderate carb.
Aroma is subtle tartness and vegetal; an almost tomato-like acidity. Not really getting much on the nose.
Taste is sharply tart and sour. Nose didn't indicate this at all. Sour cherries, lactic acid.
Mouthfeel is light and crisp, spritzy. Drinks cleaner and brighter than a lot of beers, but also leaves me a little disappointed by the light, slightly thin body.
Overall a crisp, refreshing beer that's still somehow not quite as good as I was hoping.

A-Clear deep ruby/brown one finger head
S-Sour, funk, brown ale esque, caramel and cherries
T-Not quite sour but rather tart, sweet. Not as much caramel as the nose, some grassy notes, also cherries.
M-Light to medium bodied, not much carbonation but smooth.
O-Not overly sour more tart, had with about two years on it.
