A dark reddish body that is almost brown in the center with just about no head, lacing, or retention.
Smells of sour cherries. Tart, with some malts hidden underneath there.
This is a great Flanders red ale. Very tart, with a puckering sourness that comes with a big sour cherry flavor. A touch of oak comes through. In the finish I can taste a bready malt flavor. The tartness and the cherry are the main flavors, and they are both very well done.
Pretty full bodied, puckering.
Great dinkability. This beer is fantastic, one of the best examples of the style I have encountered.

2008 vintage. On tap at Kickbacks in Jax. Poured into a snifter. White head, low retention on a clear mahogany body. Aroma jumps out of the glass and includes tart cherry, tart green apple, slight malt sweetness, some port. Taste follows closely with the aromas and is maybe the most mouth puckeringly tart beer I've ever head. Quite satisfying and very delicious. Wow.

Served in an Ommegang Rouge tulip; thanks to yourefragile for the glassware. Pours a nice reddish-caramel color with a good short off-white head and not much in the way of lacing. Nose carries slight cherry with a bit of bread and acidity through the background. Flavor has a nice bit of cherry and light malt. Medium body with moderate acidity. Nice take on the style.

Shared by one of the guys, can't remember. Thanks!
The beer appears a pretty ruby hue with a soft head that leaves sparse lacing in its wake. The aroma brings cherries, cider, oak, vinegar. Smells great. The taste delivers as well. I've been anxious to try this beer for quite some time and it does not disappoint. Acetic and tart, yet highly drinkable. Potent aroma and a bold flavor. Light to medium in body with a zesty finish. A strong example of the style. I would most definitely have this again.

Nice red, gleaming pour, mild 1/4" head on top. Lots of wood, berries, cherries, and lactic sour aroma from this one, enjoyable.
Plenty of fruit flavor with a respectable pucker factor. Some of my complaints in the style tend to be that the more traditional ones emphasize the wood flavor and brown malt like tones over the basic sourness, or if they do amp up the sourness, it takes a very vinegary direction, which is not desireable to this taster. This one, from a pretty traditional brewery, does not falter in its sourness. Nice and clean, not going to impress those who want barnyard funk wet blanket rustic notes.
Also, the fruit taste comes without added sugar, another nice spot. Plenty tart, plenty of cherry flavor, this beer avoided the pitfalls for the style.
