Poured from a 22oz bottle into a snifter glass. Date: batch #2, October 2008.
This pours a nice reddish/copper color with a large white head which quickly dissipates. The smell is vinegary, earthy, a little funk. Feel is medium, nice carbonation. Taste is different, I guess its the brett, not a taste I'm familiar with, I was expecting a sour Dutchess type of beer from the smell and I get a hard to describe dirty / earthy taste, I'm not sure what to take from it, it does have a nice long dry finish. I also get a nice sweet flavor which counteracts the earthy taste. Overall this beer isn't bad but different, quite a bit different from anything I can remember having.

Batch #3 2008.
Pours hazy amber with a finger of head.
Interesting aroma. Plenty of toasted malt aromas, biscuits, grassy, earthy, light dry spice notes, phenols, ripe apple fruitiness and tartness.
Taste has a little more funk. Plenty of toasted biscuit flavors, apple-like tartness, slightly bitter on the finish.
Tight, crisp carbonation
Interesting beer. Would get it again.

Poured the big corked bottle into a Duval style glass and a nice tan, bubbly head developed. Head dissipated quickly. Appearance was copper in color and a bit cloudy. Aroma was strong and complex with spicy notes dominating (clove, ginger hints) with sweet and sour undertones. Mouthfeel bas bubbly and carbonation was a dominating characteristic. Taste was hoppy with sweet, spicy overtones. Only slight earthy and malty hints, with those predominating in the aftertaste. Another good one from Ommegang.

Batch #2, 08! Oldest beer that's graced my lips.
Only negative aspect of the appearance, per the age, is a substantial amount of sediment that did not adhere well to the bottom of the bottle. Simply a detriment to the trifling aspect of beauty.
In terms of scent, which is generally very delicate, notes of citrus and gentle herbs come through, if ever so slightly. Hints, possibly even more so, of tart, unripened apple.
Taste fucking rocks. An incredibly non-aggressive flavor profile, though none of the three who've tried it feel the flavor is any way lacking. Flowery, distant apple, and a sourness that somehow soothes instead of puckering the mouth. It's really, genuinely supple. As a last note on flavor, there are certainly elements of the past, but lots of people are just a beautiful old as they are young.
Lest we pause before the mouthfeel... It fills the mouth and expands, but gently so, and more slowly than usual, all the while leaving no curve of the tongue untouched and the roof of the mouth waving towards the brain in a blissful, popping clamor.
I'll leave it at that.
