I think this is one of the very best beer stores I've been to, anywhere. It's hard to find fault, unless they had beer geeks engaging every customer in conversation, and maybe if the entire beer area was a walk in cooler.
Selection of regional beers was outstanding, and I saw many Belgians and beyond imports I have never encountered. But having a big selection of really interesting beers available as singles is a big one for me, the tourist. Beers outside the region seemed well chosen, like an excellent range of Great Divide and every New Belgium (both Colorado).
Finally, the place is clean for all the traffic, shelves perfectly organized. And I kept discovering new stacks and displays.

Visiting from out of town. They didn't have any Surly. They had a pretty good selection of other things. We were driving around the city and visited several shops. Stopped here and didn’t buy a thing. They are obviously above average, and there is truly nothing wrong with this place. I’m really mostly baffled by how highly they are rated on here.

This place is just as advertised as it should be: a massive liquor store somewhat near the U that will house a large selection to choose from.
They have room temp and cold storage. Tons of locals to choose from as well as the region. Thought their Belgian section was good. Again, a lot of the same labels you see in other places but the difference was they had all of them at Zipp's rather then hitting a couple spots to fill up.
Large selection of singles as you'd expect. Even a bargain bin if your tempting fate that day. Liked that they had some more obscure local brewers, even some nano. Also they have an extensive cellar in which they release vintages during special events so it's worth it for the locals to keep an eye on the place.

I come here every now and then when I want to avoid the 94 west traffic from my commute home from work. They have an amazing beer selection, especially in carrying the rarities of beers you will not find in a store anywhere near besides The Four Firkins.
Due to it's location you sometimes get a lot of sketchy people in here, none that have bothered me or anything, just the kind of people that come in looking to get anything that will get them drunk as quickly as they can open their bottle.
Dogs roam the store, which I thought was cool. Then again I am a dog person so I could see it not being so cool for someone that doesn't like dogs.
The staff seems to be knowledgeable about the beer, only the guys though. Maybe I just haven't talked to their beer girl connoisseur yet.
Great selection once again if you are trying to find something that no one else can find other places.

Nice, clean place that doesn't really specialize in wine, booze or beer. They seem to specialize in all of them. Great selection of whatever it is you're looking for. Great Belgian selection - a whole side of an aisle dedicated to them. Other side has specialty bombers and cellar specials. Tyler regularly pulls beers from their cellar and sells them at extremely reasonable prices and often as discounted verticals. I think I bought a Smoked Alaskan Porter '08-'11 for $60. That was a one-time deal but those sorts of offerings seem to pop up quite a bit which is great I think.
They don't often throw out past-date beers but they do slash the prices accordingly and move them to their own display in the back which can be nice once in a while. If you find one past its prime on the floor they'll often give you a great price if you point it out to them.
