Appearance: Thick dark, no light penetrates the opaque black hole of this beer. Tan creamy head. The head quickly disappeared, but the retention is still good.

Aroma: Oaky, roasty bitterness in the nose. The sweetness seems to come in the form of fruit (cherry) and caramel.

Taste: The bitterness from the burnt roasy grain is not as harsh as expected. The flavor smooths out and the taste finishes fairly quickly. The mouthfeel is smooth and a bit lighter than expected from the thick appearance. The finishing bitterness does not linger on the palate.

Notes: This is a drinkable beer, but it's not as flavorful as you would expect from the aroma. It's a good and pleasant beer, with a very pleasing mouthfeel.
