Pitch Black pour with 1cm tan surface layer that dissipates to an oily surface on my beer and a tan thin ring around the glass.

Slight black liqourice aroma w/ a good bit of brown roasty malts along with some hop bitterness on my nose- also a nice touch of alcohol hits my sinuses as well.

Sipping reveals a black liqourice flavor up front along with some sweet caramel and some chocolate. The finish is more drying and a bit of oak flavor hits w/ the aftertaste.

Twangy carbonation up front that quickly fizzes out to a smoother full-bodied feel with a nice dose of alcohol that creates some definite warming in my tummy!

Overall drinkability is tough to judge. Many don't like black liquorice, so those probably wouldn't enjoy. I on the other hand DO! The alcohol does hurt the drinkability a bit. However, still nice IMO.
