Appearance: Semi-translucent copper color. Very thin off-white head. Some lacing.
Aroma: Almost no smell. Just a bit of pale malt.
Taste: Some hop presence. A little bit of toasty malt. Just a hint of a strange metallic aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Pretty good at first. Good level of carbonation but then the metallic taste interrupts what would otherwise be a smooth finish.
Final Thoughts: It's possible this bottle was old (couldn't find a date on it). However, there really weren't any unusual 'off' tastes to it. Given it's lack of aroma I wasn't expecting much and it basically lived up to my expectation. If someone hands this beer to you at a BBQ or party, go ahead and accept it. But this is not one to seek out.

Clear, amber-colored beer topped by a healthy white head. Lacing is excellent and head retention holds up very good.
Clean aromas are first of pilsner malts and sweet grains, followed then by earthy and lightly citrus hops.
Tastes fairly hoppy -- much more then I've experienced in other Schell's brews. The hops are both citrusy and earthy, as noted in the nose. The malt component is light and takes a backseat in this one. I also get a bit of unpleasant vegetable flavors.
Mouthfeel is crisp with a moderate amount of carbonation and a medium body. The finish is dry and primarily of bittering hops.
Overall a good beer; it reminds me of a hop-forward Oktoberfest lager. My preference would be for this to have more balance towards the malt end, but I understand that's not what the brewer intended.
Thanks to fLax for this one!

This one grew on me a bit. At first it seemed a bit too earthy and soil toned. But that changed into a bit of an inky thing with a mature fruit tone with an interesting sweetness. Nicely drinkable, though a bit too musty and heavy for a regular rotation beer for me.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams "Perfect Pint" glass.
Appearance: Pours a deep and clear amber orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Solid three fingers of white head with decent retention. Leaves a good amount of lacing around the glass.
Smell: Bready malts with some good hints of caramel, toffee, and biscuit. Grains are slightly roasted. Hints of citrus orange and earthy noble hops. Bready malts are more prominent here. Still has a decent earthy hop balance. Laid back but good.
Taste: Big bready taste up front. Malts with notes of caramel, toffee, and biscuit. Very noticeable toasted and slightly burnt taste. Some light hints of citrus orange and lemon. Solid presence of spicy earthy hops. Fairly malt forward overall.Tastes like a solid Vienna Lager.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Toasty, smooth, and fairly drying.
Overall: A pretty solid American lager. Nice toasty malts and subtle spice.

12oz bottle with an indecipherable code.
Look is a soft golden orange with a weak sudsy head. Smell is candy corn and pumpkin pie. Taste is spicy earth notes, sweet roasted malts, and a semi-sweet bitter finish. Tastes like a bigger beer than it is.
Surprisingly tasty stuff.
