Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours red orange with small white head. Smells of Belgian yeast and sweet fruit, banana and orange. Tastes of sweet fruit, especially banana, and some lightly dark roast grain. Beer is light bodied lightly carbonated. Overall a very good beer.

Appearance : Pours a copper colored body with tons of white snowy head, measuring about four fingers in a pint glass and sticking around for quite a long time. After 10 minutes it finally recedes to about 1 finger and leaves lace on the sides of the glass in sticky patterns.

Smell : Orange, citrus zest, yeast, coriander, wheat, and a hint of hibiscus. The yeast mixes with a tiny bit of hop to create a balanced nose towards the end. Volume is medium to strong.

Taste : A malty profile fixed with barley and rice malt combines with yeast, cilantro, and burning alcohol, creating a unique burning Belgian experience. In the aftertaste, orange zest and cilantro can be found washing over the palate, with a faint zing of residual yeast. A mild coppery bitterness created by the hops balances things out just a little bit, but this beer still focuses primarily on malts.

Feel : Fairly light, but definitely medium bodied, with plenty of carbonation to go around. The finish is like the start, light, but crisp and semi-dry.

Overall : This was a nice seasonal. I still have a few of these left to enjoy before this year's Snowstorm hits the shelves.

I liked this better on tap. It was much fruitier and had a nice herbal earthy profile. Kind of floral. Going to age a few bottles and revisit later on.

Edit 12/20: a very nice belgian strong golden ale. Bananas, cloves, spices, toffee, Belgian yeast. Earthy and floral. Really enjoyable after 6 years in the bottle.

Looks like an Amber. Smells fresh, bright, like floral spring time. Dried fruit, a little salty, coriander, a little citrus zest. This was the best of my sampler pack.

Freshness date of 03 29 15:

Pours copper amber with a fluffy head. Trailing lace sticks.

The smell is of grain, slight caramel, spiced (coriander) bread and lemon.

The taste is of grain, mild earthy tone. Drying spice that doesn't overwhelm leads to a warming finish.

It is smooth with a medium body.

The spice is enough to keep balance without overwhelming. A nice stab at a "Belgian" style brew, though it wouldn't rank with the classics, it is an enjoyable winter sipper!
